I reviewed the competitor's name but I didn't found this situation.  Can u tell me the competitor no. or name? Or you can tell me by PM if you don't want to expose his/her name in public.
I'd guess it maybe under the same name but not same person.

I am not the organiser.

The children join two or more group is very common ( 越級挑戰).For example, if the child born in 2000, he/she can join 小童組(Born onor after 2000) and 兒童B(Born on or after 1998 ). If he/she really good enough, it is possible to get both group's champion. And the organiser is welcome 越級挑戰.

Some other piano competitions had restrictions on joining more than one age group contests to avoid one outstanding  candidate 獨攬所有獎項！

Dear candytl,

maybe not this time la. My daughter has to spare more time for her school work and the ABRSM violin exam of next year.  
If the piece is OK for her, maybe my daughter will joint the school music festival of next year too!

Thanks for your praise! James still has a lot to improve under his new piano teacher. Most importantly, he did join a similar piano competition last year after his gr.7 exam. So, I don't think it's worthwhile to play back those 2-3 exam pieces for the purpose of the competition.

Which grade of exam is Sandy going to take?

我囡囡彈3首考試歌由舊年彈到今年, 5月中先考完試, 如果今次參加, 又要繼續彈2-3個月, 我也覺唔係好值得咁花時間練舊歌, 都係等参加校際算喇.

咁咪無乜人參加 ?
我諗住比囡囡參加小提琴組, 不過要搵到伴奏先.因為沙田鋼琴比賽佢入左決賽, 如果再參加鋼琴會怕佢悶. 唔知呢個比賽d參賽者勁唔勁呢 ? 沙田鋼琴比賽d人就好參差.
