我囝囝(今年P5)亦於上星期六考了KET。他考完覺得都幾OK，只是Listening比想像中快。我見考KET時，有一半以上都是和他差不多大的小學生。囝囝考Speaking時，見到有小學生跟他一樣大，是考PET的，所以想問問這個情形是否普遍。

其實現在小學生(中學生都係)的英語程度都很參差。同一班P5，有些對住外藉人士都應付得很好，有些可能連"there are"都未知點用點串

KET 其實同 FLYERS 唔係差好遠。 有人考完FLYERS會直接考PET。  我個人覺得KET 以下都唔深, 小學生唔太差應該可以應付。

如果你小朋友可以應付KET, 咁就比佢試下考埋PET喇。你小朋友咁叻，一定得既。

離題一點,想問如果已經入讀中學,還要不要再考試呢?因為我已經鬆懈了!而且每考高一級的試,考試費又會貴些.很迷惘.

其實唔係太需要。
我個仔只係學校幫佢地報，我先同佢去考。
而且睇嚟呢個試已經全部係比小學生去考(因為for佢地升中用)。中學生去考好似好唔知點咁......

我覺得中學生都唔多需要。準備升中的學生(其實是家長)，報考的目的是想儲備多一些彈藥，以搏取心水中學的歡心!

小學生英文比中學生好，唔奇。妳看看以下的數字：

Cambridge ESOL 2004 Passing Rate of Hong Kong

KET 93% -> PET 83% -> FCE 48%

HKCEE English Syl B Grade C or above % (Day School First Attempters)

1996 9.4% -> 2001 11.3% -> 2005 13.6%

You can apply through British Council. Visit the following page for details :

The next exam will take place in November and application starts from 1st September.

For preparation of KET, I bought "Mock Exam Papers for Cambridge Key English Test (KET)" (published by Manley Study Centre, pink cover) which was recommended by a BK mom. In addition to mock papers, the book also provides some practice on grammar. I got this book from 天利行。

As for PET, I have no idea so far.

Do you mean exam for "Movers"? If your kid feels confident with the exam format and is familiar with the vocabulary list, maybe he/she is ready for it.
