Yh, I would like to know more about the school.  How the school handle difference among children?  ...given children are selected randomly into the school.  Do they separate pupils into different classes according to their academic achievement?

自動自覺做功課好快見效，
但要一上小一開始喇，
其實K.3個暑假已開始，我買D作業，
mark 左一日幾頁佢自己分配做囉。
佢地新丁仲怕老師架嘛，
因為小學老師同幼稚園老師好唔同架，
無做到喎？！點同老師講呀？
又會比人寫手冊，佢地會怕怕架嘛。
只要佢慣左自動完成功課，
日復日，好似刷牙洗面咁架咋！

至於對功課，都係小一下學期先開始，
因為佢都未識應小一生活，
初初開學未掂架，比D allowance 佢喇。
當你認為個仔應該要識的，只是佢失魂，
便要佢自己黎喇，咁佢先會唔好咁大意架。

仲有小一係我同佢一齊溫書，
即我一路讀課文一邊解釋，而家佢小二，
我唔再讀，由佢讀比我聽，
之後佢自己入房，覺得溫好了，
咪做吓past papers咁囉。

其實我個仔的成績係十分平庸，正因如此我很擔心他上不到原校中學。 我要上班，而且十分忙碌，這些年來都是靠他自己。我和老公都是自細讀書好，所以一直都無概念要兒子補習。坦白講越上高班的分數越難取，份卷會多到一定做不完。 雖然如此，又有很多人取得高分。 所以就算自己自問唔差，分分鐘只是中下游。

總的來說，學校教得淺但考得深便是我的體會。補充一句，除了英文和數學，P.4 及以上Science也是英文的。

全港學生只分3 bands.  如果St. Joseph's 學生要在 1/3 才叫band 1，那麼St. Joseph's只和一般 average的學校同等程度？ 我聽講九龍有些校有70 多% 是 band 1，這些學校是否比  St. Joseph's 好好多? 這樣是我沒預計的。 我和 husband都是港大畢業，也覺個仔的卷是很深的， 或者現在間間都是樣深吧！

要個仔更一層樓，補習是一條捷徑，但他便要放棄 泳隊、跆拳和青苗兵乓，這些活動對健康成長也很重要啊！

Banding is by districts. In a district with more traditional elite schools, the standard of primary school students tends to be higher.

A band 1 student in e.g. Eastern district could well be only a band 2 student in Wanchai or Central districts.

The unusually keen competition at St Joseph is due to the fact their secondary section does not have enough places to take in all band 1 and band 2 students of its primary section.

My friend's son always keep the result more than 90 and have promoted to secondary section. When he studied in F.1 all result drop to 50-60/100, even the test and exam.  my friend worried about his marks but his son don't want her to teach him and follow his homework.  

Another friend, her son can't promote to secondary then he applied to Victoria Secondary Int'l, he is the 1st of the form.  

What do you think these 2 cases.

呢兩個case 根本唔可以作比較，
因為兩間學校行既stream 唔同吖嘛。
由小學上中學好似由幼稚園上小學一樣，
係要時間適應的，加上小學好多時靠背寫，
上到中學答題方式亦有不同。
好多時小學平平的學生，上到中學可能大有進步，
小學時唔跟足書本model answer 作答，
一分一分咁扣左去，但上到中學要靠腦，
只要寫得到point 就有分喇，
一味抄晒本書上去都唔一定拎到分架。
好多男仔，入到理科仲見明顯呀。

St. Paul Co-Edu is in Western District, Do you say is St. Paul Convent?  It's a private school.  How about Marymount?

聖若瑟小學沒有精英班。  一年級新生是不論成績隨意分班的，升二至六年級是根據上一學年期終考試全級名次編班，第一名入A班，第二名入B班，第九名入A班...如此類推。  理論上A班是最叻的，但事實上由於每名之間的成績只差很少，所以A班跟G班根本無大分別。
