角膜矯型鏡片

Dear all,
我唔明點解價錢(三千蚊和萬幾蚊)相差這麼遠?因為我的視光師都是專業註冊,眼鏡都是從外國廠訂回的.有無人可知道分別在那裡?

我的女兒散光右眼100度,左眼125度,配戴後左右眼仍有25度.近視就沒有(原先200度和150度).

The $12000 to $18000 is a package cost covering 1 year free check up and other repalcement costs if the lens was found unsuitable.

According to the internet, the marginal profit of the lens should be very big (just like the normal glasses) and the most expensive part of the cost is service.

Will your optometrist include the after sale check up or does he charge it every time when you go back?

即是說你女兒的散光也改善了, 太好了.  我女兒左眼近視散光各有175度, 而右眼就325近視,25度散光. 我不敢奢望完全變冇, 但都要試試, 只想她不要繼續加深.

順帶提醒各媽咪, 這種鏡片不是絕無風險的.  平日一定要做足消毒程序, 絕不可以馬虎, 而且小朋友睡覺時難保他們不反瞓或者捽眼, 角膜受細菌感染的後果可以是很嚴重的.  我問過幾個眼科醫生, 個個也不建議戴, 他們說要有心理準備要成日睇醫生, 所以我也考慮了兩年, 又見到都好多成功例子先決定搏一搏.

My son got 125 for both eyes.

I went to the $3000 shop referred by Flowerlam today and the eye check service is simpler than the shop which quoted $12000 and $18000. Checking fee is $180.

When my son put on the trial lens, his feeling is much worse than the expensive shop and the optometrist said the eye balls of my son are flatter than than normal.

It's true that there is a big difference in the pricing but I don't know if there is any difference in the lens.
Will go for another centre for test tomorrow.

其實戴呢種眼鏡係唔會減低已有嘅近視度數，只會停止/減慢加深嘅速度。至於成功與否，主要睇小朋友眠球本身嘅型狀同彈性，如果眼球本身已經很平的話，效果未必好。我囡囡可能本身眼球彈性好，所以先有咁好 effect。但當停止用呢種眼鏡之後，佢就會回復原本嘅度數。但囡囡都話值得，因為起碼佢可以享受呢幾年"無鏡生活"啦！

I asked the optometrist about the difference among different eyeballs and he stated that for people with flatter eyeballs, they have to take longer time to achieve the corrective effect.

好多謝你的意見.我沒有去過其他貴的視光師驗眼.所以不知道原來我的視光師驗得很簡單,但我想你可否詳細告之,我的視光師在那一方面做得不夠詳細,等我考慮是否要轉視光師.

Dear Flowerlam,

I mean the check up was only simpler than the other centre which I went the other day.

For example, your optometrist has not checked the colour-blindness, the 3D test, air blowing into the eyes and taking other measures on the eyes using the microscope.  Of course the price is also different, $180 vs $350.

However I was told by other friends that the putting on of trial lens should last for an hour but not just 10 minutes s with your optometrist.

Have made the 3rd appointment on coming Friday and was notified by PolyU that a half day appointment has been reserved in the middle of Feb.

BTW, for information of richsmart, my son is 9 years old now and he was not frightened when trying the lens.  

Also, according to the optometrists, the mechnical injury casued by the rigid lens can be recovered very fast.  However, infection caused by the bacteria is the main concern.
