can I also ask which kg your daughter study and you and your 老公工作, how to you think why they accept your daughther as I want to prepare for my younger daugher even my first daughther just got the regret letter.

我都未收到! 不過就算佢收我囡囡,囡囡都話佢唔會讀噃! 佢話佢已經決定在讀邊間!

平心而論,5分鐘都可以知道/感覺好多野,我囡囡咁細個都可以係由等到in埋既短短20分鐘內,知道自己鍾唔鍾意間學校同校長/老師!

所以唔收既小朋友唔係唔叻唔夠好,只係唔合校長眼緣吧了! 大家唔好太介懷! 更要積極找一所合自己子女的學校,多鼓勵自己的小朋友,任何學校都可以有名人/偉人/管理人材出現!

My daughter is one of the lucky ones to be admitted. I am a working mom, no relation and my daughter is the only child.

My daugher is also one of the lucky one.   However, my daughter has received a place in the first round, so I still hvn't made up my mind.
唔合校長眼緣, Ya, I agree with this point. My daughter is not accepted by all the private/DSS school I applied for her.

Two of my daughter's friends in CCKG were accepted.

From my point of view, it is hard for me to belive 女拔 to accept girls based on their talent or ability ==> BUT on GUANXI !!!
  

For those who have been offered a place, my sincere congratualtion.  For those failed in the application, it is not the end of the world.  It is not a matter of live and death.  If parents can't face this application of P1 game (I really want to call it a game), how possible can we prepare ourselves for our kids' public exam results, be they good or bad.

Personally, I did not feel good to be rejected either.  But, I am relieved coz the game is now over; my girl has got a school which she likes.   

to this unhuman game......

of course the decision is decided by headmistress, not us.
what we submitted is only an application for interview, not stright in.
i believe there are 1000 girls who have similar resume.
don't feel sad and mad.

I'm only a passer-by, but I can understand how irritating you feel about the result. I guess somehow Mrs Dai has got her professionalism and experience to judge whether the girl is suitable for the school and can fit in the school's style. It's just a GAME, don't care it too much. 塞翁失馬，焉知非福！

o甘樣入到名校, 都吾知係好事定壞事, 我朋友都係靠打羽毛球而入到DBS, 佢話, 入到去, 學校只係關心佢打波打成點, 有時仲要用埋上堂o既時間去練習, 學業上就一定追吾上, 但成績差, 學校都比佢升上中六。

In talking to some DGS girls who are not promoted from DGJS, they comment that in F.1, they found that the girls promoted from the DGJS are better in English, some are also good in Chinese, most very active and excel in a lot of activities, and they commonly have a highly competitive spirit.

However, after a couple of years, the difference are levelled off and DGJS girls do not have particular advantage in the F.3 streaming examinations.  There are top girls admitted from other schools each year who are very outstanding and highly competitive.  It seems that one common thing is the highly competitive spirit (戰鬥形).  

So if your girl is smart and works hard, likes to excel in all her activities and study, she will be in the DGS family only sooner or later. However, if you or your child are of the more relax type, you may not prefer the school life there.  It is a painful to push and mode a person's character.  There are many outstanding graduates from the international schools too who relax and enjoy themselves in the early school years. It is true that there are many ways to Rome.
