家教∼屋企唔教想學校教咩？！

人有我有心態∼你見隔離果ｄ同學仔又學呢樣果樣，　你點都會同你小朋友報ｄ課外活動，又唔關學校事ｇｅ！學校都唔會理你出去學ｍｕｇ野．．．

學校老師同你家長了解小朋友在學校情況就話complain?　你都想你小朋友跟得上嫁？？？　將來上小學你都唔會只給學校教啦，會搵人睇下佢ｄ功課啦．我都識好多ｗｏｒｋｉｎｇ　ｍｕｍ喎！

總言之，好睇你家長自buy 唔buy學校啦，　有時ｄ野免強冇幸福．值唔值得都好睇個人！

至於點解?  我估係佢地都會計分制, 平行各樣 (如, 住址, 家長職業等等)  你地父母在名校畢業, 咁d仔女再入機會咪好大law.

張 application form 係要填家長職業同來自邊間學校 ?  
但我兩公婆, 都無填邊間學校 ... 漏空左, 只填職業, 我係 House wife lor....

我真係好心提醒有心幫小朋友入名校的家長:  其實讀SC真係同名校完全無關,我小朋友的班主任仲話好心你地米成日唸住入名校啦,我地從來都無話我地可以幫你地d仔女入名校,但原來好多家長真係一早就知讀SC入名校機會是沒有特別保証,只是喜歡SC教英文好,我們有很多人連九龍X小學,ST. FRANX 都考唔倒啦!  我早知讀其他近D嘅學校算數! 以為入了SC就是入名校的第一步!現在反而讀其他平幼稚園的小朋友都入倒最TOP的名校,真是心UP!都唔知點解當初有人傳話入SC就是入名校的第一步?其實如果自己沒有什麼BACKGROUND（爸媽不是ＯＬＤ　ＢＯＹ　ＯＲ　ＯＬＤ　ＧＩＲＬ，既沒有高級地址，爸爸或媽媽亦不是什麼大人物），而小朋友又不是太特出的話，只要是一間有中文有英文學的幼稚園已可以有幾會入讀一般的小學!

I totally agree your comment. But still lots of lots of parents still want to apply SC for their kids ... Really don't understand what they are thinking.

Dear all,

I'm not St. Cat's parent, but to be frank, St. Cat is rather a good school.  Of course, there're also other good schools providing bilingual (Eng/Putonghua) education.

I also agree with some parents' views that entering St. Cat or other famous kindergartens doesn't mean stepping inside the famous primary schools.  Most important thing is the performance of the kid during exam / interview, and what the kid learnt over the years in his/her kindergarten.

Of course, I also have my perference wishing my son could be enrolled into BDSPD or CKY, but I still realize that all depends....

So, what I should do now is asking the parents in BDSPD and CKY to share their experiences and preparation for interview with me so that I try to train up my boy during this time....

No matter how, I still feel happy on my son's learing coz he really learnt many things during K1 & K2, especially his language in English and Putonghau.

Here, wish all parents and their childern have happy life forever la.

我個仔讀緊sc k1, 我都知讀左sc唔會一定入到名小學而我暫時都係諗住報返我以前間母校(津小).  我比個仔讀sc係buy佢英文好和開心囉. 而我個仔又真係好鐘意返學. 我都有比個課外活動(學音樂)不過就算唔係讀sc我都比佢學, 因為我想佢多方面發展, 唔關學校事bor.

i m not a sc parent yet but my son has been accepted this fall and i m still thinking....but i hope to say something in fairness to sc...

lately, i have been visiting the campuses of the kindergartens which my son has been accepted....
(1) the first one would not even let me visit even though my son has been accepted. (2) the second kindy just let their receptionist give us tour of the campus, she couldn't offer much explaination but worst her attitude was not friendly and helpful which made us feel that we were bothering her (3) sc in comparison, a 主任 led us around explaining their cirriculum and the kids' time table, and told us to call her if we have anymore questions in the future.

before, i too thought the only good thing about sc is that it is famous, however, now i feel they do show some heart, at least they make u feel they care.... and not at all the stuck up famous school image/attitude!

and i too think what ElephantMa said is right, for the kids to get into famous primary schools can not solely depend on which kindergarten, sc or not, rather all the other stuff is more important "Most important thing is the performance of the kid during exam / interview, and what the kid learnt over the years in his/her kindergarten"!

Hi elainec,

I understand your situation now coz I also encountered similar problem - to choose appropriate kindergarten for my son.

Frankly, my son was accepted by 3 kindergartens around 2 years ago  -- one was SC, one was KV and another one.  Finally, both I and my hubby chose the third one.  Do u know why?  Haaa...we just asked our son which school he liked once after the interviews by the three schools.  Then my son promptly answered that he liked the third one.  We asked him why.  He just said: "Its fun....so many songs.... many toys.... many teachers... smiling...." (my son was only 2+ years old at that moment, so he just explained in that way).  Then we chose it.

At the begining, I still have a little bit worry on abt the third one coz it was not so famous as SC and KV...but still a pretty good school.   Now, it totally gave me confidence, especially the big progress on the languages in Eng and Putonghua of my son (coz it is adopting bilingual education and dual-masters system, i.e. one Eng native speaking master + one Putonghau speaking master to lead a class).  

He also built up a very good self-discipline on changing uniforms by himself, on tidying up toys by himself after playing, on doing homeworks right after school, on doing home-reading and write down simple notes (3 books provided by school every week)....Everyday, he must wear smiling face to go to school and also chase our maid to go out earlier so that he would not be late....  

So, you can consider which school your son like most and then make up your mind.    Kindergarten is the first-step of childern to learn and to explore.  If the environment could provide a happy and good-learning atmoshere for childern, then it is a good school, no matter it's famous or not.
