Dear st. bintai,


Do u mean that Raimondi secondary is a very good school that can compare with KC, QC and SP?

How do u know that the academic result of this school is good enough to compare with the reputation school ?

I really interest in this school, but my son was failed this yr.  If this school is comparable to QC, KC & SP, so I will not give up and keep sending letter to the school.

Pls give advise!!!

This is the first time I heard that Raimondi is such a top school. I think it is a good, but not top school. If consider the distribution of students' banding, the primary school may only be a average/below average one.

Hi there

How do we justify if it is a good or bad primary school?  Only academic result?  or graduate students' secondary school banding?  or right place for the right children...

I am confused after so many interviews...

I want to know too.  One more question! Those parents whose sons are accepted by this school, do you think the interview was much easier than other schools, i.e. DBS or St. Paul co-ed.  That's mean, the level of Raimondi is much lower than DBS or St. Paul co-ed.  Agree?

I don't think the interview was much easier than other schools.  Because my son interviewed five schools.  DBS, St.Paul Co-ed, St.Paul Boy, Raimondi, SFA.  I found that all the interviews were also easy, except SFA.   The most difficult interview was SFA.

In fact, my son did not do well during the Raimondi's interview.  He kept moving around and he even did not say good morning to the teacher.  But luckily, he was accepted by the school.

When he was in St. Paul co-ed, he acted much much better than he was in Raimondi, however, no 2nd interview so far.....

My son did well during the interview, but he was rejected by Raimondi.  My friend's daughter did worse during St. Paul Co-ed interview(because she cried and shouted loudly), but she got the 2nd interview.   
I think we never know what admission criteria do the school use.

Hi,

My son is not studying in Raimondi but we applied for it last year ( not success). I think it is a good school that is why we tried. We applied because friends of mine have sons studying there. They are doing the same grade as my son---P5. We sometimes talk about the things they learn at school, and I found Raimondi is much better than the school my son is doing.

You can't tell if you do not have a kid studying in P5 /P6. Since you could not see the whole picture. They might be very happy in the first 2 years. But how about after being taught for 4 or 5 years? ......Then, you may worry if your kids would follow well when they go to the secondary school.

For my son's situation. He is very happy at his present school. I WAS very happy too. Until one day, I found the things he is learning may not be enough for him to prepare to study in the secondary school. I started to worry. After talking to the old boys of my son's school. I felt worrier. They are not lazy but somehow they found it hard to achieve and follow in F1. Such as too many English words to remember.......eg. in Science, Social Studies, Maths....etc.

I talked to the old boys mom too. Some of them regreted not sending their sons to a primary school with higher academic levels.

However, many parents are addicted to the happy learning idea just like me may not accept those hard learning approach. But now, I am in the situation that really push me to think.
