From what I know, your son can do the assessment when he reached 3 years old. Did you talk to your son's teachers and seek their advice?

You can ask your son's  paede for a referral letter and wait for the govt assessement(it may take a while because of the long waiting list) or do it privately. Going private would cost more money, Heep Hong is reasonable.

But if your son's mother tongue is English, a private assessment may cost a lot more. You can check with Watchdog or Matilda Hospital, they may charge less.
