女私校:
sh am = 聖心上午私校部
sc = 聖嘉勒-今年起全日
sp = st. paul convent 銅鑼灣
st.stephen girls 係小一二係不用測考, 但我朋友佢話各小朋友媽咪都會同囡囡補英文, 學樂器, 跳舞, 游水...... 以免小三有問題就太遲..... 聽佢講學校雖不用測考, 但老師都好留意女仔d英文, 同參加幾多課外活動. 但直上中學有80% woo, 所以入到小學都好保險下la.
如有st.stephen家長, 煩請引証下, 比d意見, thanks.     :  :

聖嘉勒正在全面改革中,增加左好多活動及參觀,校方十分開明,有外籍老師教英文,數學都是用英文教.
今日9月開始小一是全日,上午是正常上課,午飯後做功課及安排免費課外活動.
有電腦室及全新圖書館,視聽室及舞蹈室都快將投入使用.

請問你知否sc的新校長是從mm來的嗎，那她以前是否mm的校長？

另外據我所知sc是一所中文小學，何解會用英文教數學呢？我知道佢地今年小一轉全日，但唔知之後小二至小六是否亦會轉全日呢？

sorry for so many questions .  Although sc admiitted my daughter, I really have no idea about this school.  As they don't have open day and they didn't organize any parent's seminar neither.  I really wanna know more about this school.

Oh, btw, how did you know so well about sc?  Is your girl studying in this school now?  Is she happy with her school life?

For St Stephen's, no exams up to P3. The learning environment (even the secondary section) is probably the most relaxed one among all the schools mentioned in this post. . Emphasis on reading and music. The school orchestra is the only all-girl orchestra in the competitive division at the Hong Kong Schools' Music Festival. Most students “play” hard, whether they study hard or not depends on the parents and the students themselves to a large extent. As a student put in the recent SCMP supplement on the school's 100th anniversary, It’s a fun school and we do fun activities.”

In my opinion, they also have the best looking winter school uniform in Hong Kong as well.

順道插嘴一下.

St Clares' only started teaching math in English this year. No changes for other forms. The change was possibly another move to make the school more attractive to the parents. In the past, only general studies for P4 and above is taught in English partly and Math in P6 after the second呈分試 in English too.

Other forms will not change to full-day (the school building cannot cope with the change).

The new principal came from Marymount but she was not the principal there.

Thanks for your comments.  Well, It really confused me.  If SC's school building cannot cope with the full day schooling, why they choose to change P1 to full day but not other levels?  As you know P1 students are still very young and may not get used to whole day school life.  Don't you think it will be more sensible to change higher level primary students to full day instead of lower levels?

From all your comments, It seems to me that this new headmistress of SC is quite aggressive in implementing different changes to the school.  Is anyone here know well of this new headmistress?  Do you think she is capable to make SC a better school than before?

Moreover, I heard from other channel that MM got a new headmistress too, if the new headmistress in SC is not former headmistress of MM, then where is the former headmistress of MM gone?  Retired?  Anyone knows?

Dear Naughtmom

Pls see Charlotte_mom's comment on the number of classes before and after.

Whether the new principal is aggressive or not we still have to wait and see. The change to full-day schooling was decided before the new principal was hired. The old principal 'retired' among various speculations. The school has been under a lot of pressures for changes. No matter who comes on board, she has to respond to them.

聖嘉勒新校長十分開明,係唔需要再用時間睇,而佢係得到校董會的全力支持改革,家長及年輕的老師們都同佢同一路向.
學校方面是向英文小學路線走,而未來日子會增聘外籍老師,加強小朋友的英語能力.

Hi,

Although I am not familiar with St. Clare, but I'm sure your Primary now has a very kind-hearted and a devoted principal to the school, you are so lucky!

We missed her and really surprised to know that she have made this decision.  You could hardly find one like her in our school MM now.
