Hi All
I want to try la Salle for my son, but afraid that the Pui Ching place is not secured even I pay the $550 deposit. What do you think?

I've same question.  I'm thinking to try first round CSK La Salle.  So will you try 1st round and 2nd round?  Do you have 20 points for 1st round?  Do you think La Salle is too pushy?  If you try 2nd round, Pui Ching should know but not sure if they release your son's seat or not.

Yes, the school may refund the $550 to you and give the seat to other pupil.

關於會唔會取消學位一事, 等我試吓睇吓可唔可以問到上屆d K3 家長睇吓有冇人抽得唔好又可以番到轉頭先...

Hi All,

Ryan doesn't have enough marks to go for the first round. I just want to try his luck in the 2nd round for La Salle.
If Pui Ching starts taking the reservation fee this year, last year would be different story.

No ar....PC always asked parents to register for P1 places by giving $550 reservation fee every year (not only this year), but the point is : for many years, if they know you go for the 2nd round lucky draw, no matter you got a good place for your kid or not, they will cancel your reservation.  So that's why we can't go for lucky draw.

However, the story last year is, even though parents go for lucky draw and not satisfied with the allocation results, they can still return to PC (i.e. PC did not cancel their reservation) ==> But I dunno if there are real cases where kids can stay at PC even though they experienced the lucky draw, and I will go and verify this....

那是個很特別的例子, 因為家長特殊背景的關係, 學校才會破例.

如果人人都可以破例, 試問那個家長不會去抽籤試試運氣呢??

其實我唔明Pui Ching 中學會考考syllabus B 同Math, Bio, Chem 用英文書, Why 叫中中?

咁, 中文大學大部份的學院 (e.g. 理學院, 商學院, 醫學院, 工程學院, 社會科學院) 都只用英文書, Why 叫 "中大"?

據我所知, 無論課程甲(Syllabus A)及課程乙(Syllabus B) 都規定必須用英文作答. 只不過課程甲的程度較淺，課程甲C級成績，只等同課程乙E級成績。

Yes, thanks for your reminder here.  Yet what I said is : I only heard from our class teacher last year that the school "allowed" students to take the lucky draw last year, so I wonder whether there are successful cases which students could return to PC if they are not satisfied with the lucky draw result.

I do not know there is already one case here : "因為家長特殊背景的關係" - yet if you said so, that means you heard of such case?

May I know if your kid is at K3 last year? 'cos I wish to see if there are any K3 parents of last year who did go through such process and share with us, since the message we got from the parents meeting at the end of K2 was : starting from last year, PC allowed us to go for lucky draw - that's why I wish to verify to see if there is a policy change here.... :

Yeah it would be good if we can get this verified Thanks 彥彥媽咪. I have been thinking hard these days whether I should go for the lucky draw.

yes...I knew a few kids who was K3 last year since we were on the school bus, let me see if I can contact them to verify this news~~

In the meantime, I think we can still try the 1st round if we want, bcos unless we accept the offer from the school we applied, PC will not know we go for that, so that won't affect our seat reservation, but only we may not be successful at this stage becos of the points system.

Do you have the  "Application Form For Admission to Primary One"? If yes, please read the Declaration #6 of the first page. (just above your signature).

高信班家長:

Today called 教育處, they told me that 我囝抽1st round 學校是唔知的.  但我1st round 抽唔到的話, 教育處會automatically 將我囝擺落2nd round 到抽, 教育處will inform學校, so that 學校是知的.  There is a risk 學校 will release our place in P1.

But 教育處話如果我1st round 抽唔到, 可以call 教育處out 番亞仔出來, 唔抽second round.  Then 學校是唔知的. 但一定要記得out 番出來!

總結是如果 1st round no 20 points to 抽chance is low.  But 抽second round have risk 學校will release 我們小朋友的位.

Currently, Pui Ching has not told us if we join the lucky draw, they will cancel our reservation. The fact is that we have paid our reservation fee, unless I have not paid the school fee in coming August, the school should have no right to cancel our reservation.

The memo received earlier and on the parent meeting last week, there was no implication that they will cancell the reservation if joining the lucky draw. As the school has not expressly prohobited and the parents have not made any declaration on this, I see no point that the children cannot join the lucky draw next year.
