Winchester College vs Tonbridge School

係，再次多謝你呀，感覺應是這樣，又知Oxbridge也是House制度，所以確認下。想畢竟到了大學階段，已經長大 ...

唔使客氣呀。
Oxbridge行嘅係「college」制度，同中學嘅「boarding house」制度相似但又唔一樣。始終讀大學已經係「大人」，所有活動係自願，隔離左右最多叫做「鄰居」，少咗少年「生死與共」嘅感覺。

講多個有趣冷智識。1384年創立Winchester College嘅William of Wykeham（當時地位係Lord Chancellor，比首相權力更高，基本上係英皇之下最大權嘅人），其實係同時俾錢起咗Oxford嘅New College，當時佢已經決定Wincoll係New College嘅feeder school，所有Wincoll畢業生都直入New College。所以係佢決定Wincoll系統要mirror Oxford嘅college system。而後來Eton college同埋有類似聯繫嘅King's College Cambridge，都係因為Henry VI見到Wincoll + New College Oxford搞得有聲有色先喺60年後下令照抄先後興建。（所以冇Wincoll就冇Eton)

可惜Wincoll同New College嘅入學聯繫去到二十世紀就完咗，而家剩低嘅聯繫只係New College嘅Warden係Wincoll嘅必然校董。

140人, 考40-50 名左右

我諗你資訊有啲錯誤喇。Winchester 係今年先開始收少量女生讀sixth form，根本未有女生讀到upper sixth，何況入大學？
不過Wincoll學生嘅training係非常好就係事實。

you asked about Winchester too but the result will only be released in April/May right?

Yes seems so. But since there’s a deadline for tonbridge in mid March, wanna see if I can hv a more thorough understanding on both schools from different perspectives before initial payment.  Good luck everyone for getting the best suitable schools for ur child!
