利申: I have two DBS boys, one of them is now in the UK.
I cannot tell what is going to be like in 循道 but I can honestly tell you what you can expect in DBS.
No matter how good your son is performing currently and his potential, I bet you can easily find some other boys who can outperform him in ANY area. So be prepared for cruel competition if you want your boy to stay in "at least the above-average" tier.
Do not expect the school could provide sufficient teaching/pastoral care to enable the boys to handle their exams, I think you have heard that DBS examines the boys but does not teach them well. The process is 1. A long list of tutoring > school examination good > survival, or 2. A long list of tutoring > school examination bad > A longer list of tutoring > being discriminated and labelled. After all, life is tough, and as a DBS boy, he learns the cruel reality earlier than others.
But there are more Pros of DBS: 1. Good school resources, 2. Know the second or third generation of the celebrity (if you want), 3. good school name to help your son to get to a better school when continuing their study overseas. DBS is a name not only in Hong Kong, but globally.
