小學英文用story book教

Today

培正 is using CECES's (幼聯) Big book shared reading approach.  That is called 'Story book or Big book approach'

There is no text book.  They are teaching around 8 story books each term.  Teacher has another big story book for teaching in school.  '課堂以大故事書為中心，配合講故事、角色扮演、唱遊、工作紙及遊戲，加強學員在英語上聽、講、寫、讀四方面的能力。'
There are extra worksheets, writing, singing, and drawing that are related to the topic of story books.

Comment (for P1):
-children like the English lesson
-they could remember most of the Vocabulary (there is simple dictation-biweekly)
-they could write simple sentence.
-They teach little grammar only.
-Comparing with other schools, their examination paper is similar.  

I think parents want high score for the exam result have to put some efforts in clarifying the grammar with their child.

其實textbook很多時都是一個chapter有一個故事或文章，當中帶著重點( e.g. 某種時間式的運用)，加上其他一些語文運用和生詞/生字。用story book 也是如此，我小朋友學校的老師會根據story內容抽出材料製作worksheets, 學習句式，學習文法等。當然story books的故事較為吸引，不過要視乎學校用那本story book。

我仔學校用wide range readers ，這本書是很多小學都有採用；我女學校用simplied version既Jane Eyre, little women 等。

Different from overseas, there are extra worksheets and examination which requires correct grammar.  In additon, they are teaching phonics (once lesson a week).
