可以的話儘量過去 interview 唔好用 skype。

同意Oxbridge interview 係人生難得experience, 有得in 已經係一個achievement, 所以明知付出數倍努力but slim chance 都支持阿仔盡力試下。
不過如果係其他unis 嘅interview 例如imperial 就應該分別不大，skype interview 都得。阿仔剛回覆Sheffield 同 Birmingham 因為太遠，又無親戚朋友響附近照應過夜，所而都係skype interview 就算。

多謝提醒。
佢 daddy 當年都 in 過 Cambridge, 雖然入唔到但覺得係一個經驗，所以有得 in 既話都會飛去。  亞女上星期已經收到第一個 conditional offer, 輕鬆左一半喇!

喺香港讀IB報 Humanities subject.  之前open day 去過 visit, 本來佢想報 Magdalen College, 學校覺得競爭太激烈，建議佢報 Norrington table 中游嘅 college.

其實我都唔太清楚，我估個女成績唔係標青，school counselor recommend 間冇咁competitive 嘅俾佢。

阿仔報嗰科比較冷門同細班所以得7個colleges 揀。佢有去open days, 睇中其中兩間colleges 但其中一間housemaster 話唔好報因為偏向收state school 學生。

其實報邊間 college 有無影響呢個問題年年都會有人拗，Oxford 官方就話無關係，每年都有唔少人最後係 reallocate 去其他 college:

Colleges work co-operatively to try and ensure all applicants for a particular subject, across all colleges, can be compared against one another, in order that the very best people get Oxford places. As a result, 28% of candidates offered a place for 2016 entry were at a college other than the college they named as their preference.

This redistribution process involves importing and exporting candidates between colleges. Any given college will ‘export’ a certain number of the candidates who named it as their preference to other colleges, and will ‘import’ candidates for consideration who named another college as their preference.


This capacity by colleges to share and consider a wide range of candidates is designed to ensure the best applicants across the University get places, regardless of whether the particular college they named as their preference was oversubscribed in that year.



亦有人覺得會有影響的，不過多年來都無人能夠提出證據，睇下你信邊個。


如果真係有影響的話，報 open application 應該會有著數，因為一定會由電腦分配去無咁多人報既 college 而 college 又唔知你係報 open 的。


不過睇 admission statistics，open application 既 offer rate 又比較偏低︰
2014-2016 open (offer rate 9%); non-open (offer rate 22%)

好似Oxford 有個policy 係至少兩個collage interview 一個applicanf? 定係只係我個仔報嗰科？

Just for reference, my kid applied "A'"college but called to interview by college "B" years ago. Skype interview and admitted.

There should be at least 2 interviews, but not necessarily from two colleges.  E.g. for large colleges or those with higher number of places offered for the course concerned, the 2 interviews may be at the same college.  For borderline cases, there may be a 3rd interview.

If it is decided to attend the interview in person, adequate time should be allowed to avoid the effects of jet lag which may adversely affect the performance at the interview.  Otherwise, it is agreeable to attend it in person.
