Try after the 1st Term. If you have friend in your "dream" school, ask them the examination dates in advance so that you can prepare well.

Have you engage any activities for your child?  It will be better to have more RECOGNIZED certificate (not those from learning centres) in sports, music, languages / speech communication.

my gal is studing ballet for 2 yrs n swimming for almost 1 yr but i dun hv certificate for swimming as its one to one.

btw, do u think its possible to get a seat for p1 2nd term?

I heard some cases are successful.  Of course, very depends on the availability of the school.  It would be better to try in this way as many parents will try in P2.  Also you can show your eagerness earlier to the headmaster.

That's why if you have friend in your "dream" school, inside information will be easier.

BTW, if your child still have time, see whether language class, like speech communication, you can get Certificate from UK.  You can note that School Speech Competition will held in November every year - you may earn some points on this.

My child attended Speech Class in Mongkok "Learning Key".  They have 3 speech examinations, from "London College of Music and Drama (LCM), Trinity and Guildhall.

They have just acquired from "eking University" to get Chinese speech examination (in both Cantonese and Putonghua).  My child will attend this - start in July, end in August and will take examination by early September.  Very good timing to have more certificate.

My child is boy.  He will study at SFA in Sept unless my "knocking door" at La Salle is successful.

One thing, for sure, those famous subsidized school would like to accept students from SFA because of their academic achievement.

Have you "knock door" at other schools?  Is it in Net 41?

Yes, I'm in Net 41, and still waiting the reply from schools but I think the chance is very very low.   Besides, I read those previous messages in this forum that SFA will only accept about 1/3 of girl each year.  Not sure if it is right or not.  Anyway, is it a boy school before ??

Would U please tell us more about the course about "Speech Communication"?  How many child per class and why you choose this for your child?(not only they can get a certificate).  

I also looking for Speech course for my son, but most course is include drama.

There are 3 UK examinations for Speech Communication, they are LCM, Trinity & Guildhall.  There are 6 to 8 children per class so that they can "exchange".  The class will teach him communication, understanding, personal involvement, vocal and physical expression.  I hope my child can develop his appreciation and understanding of language and literature.  Of course, the certificate is a tool for your advancement to some schools.

You can check with the centre the content of the course, e.g. conduct in English or Cantonese, what exactly in the part of drama.  Because in Trinity, they have to select a poem / poetry and they need to pretend the character.

I didnt join the preparation class as I know they are not running by SFA.  Outsider also can join the class and most of all, no school bus!!!!  I will arrange some other class for her during summer vacation.  What about you?

No, as the preparation class is from July 25 to August 5, and I have planned for a trip between August 2-5.

I know one parent who was well-acquired with the senior staff of La Salle has successfully got into La Salle Primary several years ago. Of course, the boy is brilliant in academics, sports and music. He just comes from a non-famous subsidized school (please let me keep the secret of which school).
