I'd say you don't have to worry, they are playing all the time! They have half hour mandarin everyday, PE lesson and cooking lesson once a week, and not sure how often music lessons are though. They teach basic phonics from pre K/nursery, by the time they leave Anfield according to the principal most of them are at phase 4-6 of phonics which are quite advanced apparently. They don't force the kids to write but encourage them to practise their fine muscles by doing different tasks, they only let the kids start holding pens in K1. They don't just hold up flash cards and teach the kids to repeat after them, they teach things implicitly.
