Do you mean that every kid need to learn 2 musical instrument?  

To be honest, I didn't know if my daughter like music and that's why I cannot make the decision.  My kid like APS very much, don't know why, only know most of her friends from APS kindergarten will study in APS.  I talk to her several time and try to convince her to study in Good Hope and she rejects.  Really feel very frustrated.

thanks a lot, it seems it is a bit tough on the musical performance.  I like this school very much as this is a Christian school.

How good is 瑪利諾神父小学 compared with APS

其實如果你的小朋友不喜歡音樂而你認同音樂是可受用一生,宣小是一個不錯的選擇.

試想如果將音樂等同中英數一定要計分又不能不學,小朋友是會在學習過程中和同輩影響下產生興想趣,不論他之前dislikes music very much.

以宣小學生年年在校際音樂節取得接近過千優良證書亦證明音樂興趣是可以培養.至於學一些泠門樂器如大喇巴低音大提琴巴松管對入名中如DGS/DBS/La Salle是甚有幫助,因學界是甚小人識這些樂器.

至於鋼琴不計,因樂團是沒有piano.

我識得一個宣小生,他之前對音樂也沒有interest,但到P.5已取得violin Grade8 distinction,跟著入了男拔,到F.4去了英國,還靠他violin的戌績取得3,000磅獎學金,令他的父母歡躍不己!

以一間私校說,music is a good strategy for survival to enter 名校.

Maybe I make it more clear. APS encourages the students to learn 1 musical instrument (other than piano) in order to fill up the vacancy of its orchestra every year. Moreover, APS thinks that piano is a kind of "lonely" instrument (much suitable for solo) and cannot educate team spirit. Be honest, most of parents will let their kids to learn piano during childhood and so...most of the students in APS are learning 2 musical instruments.

宣小沒有限定學生要學習指定樂器，其實校方給予學生很大自己度選擇喜愛樂器

Hi yi,

My girl did not studied in Alliance Kindergarten. She was a St. Catherine girl. I heard that APS will reserve around 1/3 of primary 1 place for their kindergarten students. In 2005, they have 4 classes of primary 1 and each have around 40 students, i.e.: ~160 seats. However, there will be more than 2000 applicants to apply for this school every year.

Any comment about 瑪利諾神父小学?  Till now, i do not know how it is compared with APS.  So, i do not know how to make the decision.  Pls

Oh, the competition is so keen. Is there any advantage for the child study in alliance kindergarten?
besides, any kentville students admitted in APS? many or less?

以我所知from my friend, 宣小選樂器是冇得揀 ! 由老師"分配"  Piano 唔算數 !  

其實培養音樂係非常好, 只是I don't like the choice not on my hand + at a push !

上年小兒被學校推薦學習敲擊樂，我地經過考慮改學管樂到現在。有很多家長因為各種原因也會改選其他樂器。學校並不會強人所難。
