去加拿大定英國好呢？

I was educated in the US and my husband in the UK. He told me he has always been with his friends from HK all the time from boarding school to university. Most people from HK do still stay with asians all the time anyway. In fact, even UK born asians, they tend to mingle with people from their own ethnicity too.This happens in the US as well.
Bunnygirl had different experience because she was already working when she moved to the UK and had to move outside her comfort zone.
Not all UK universities are good. Unless you are sure to get offer from oxbridge, lse, imperial, etc. There are a lot of other schools that are not exactly good.

我覚得無論去CANADA　OR　UK,如果本身吾想離開自己個COMFORT　ZONE,就会look for Chinese group to join in.  You cant avoid or control your child.  所以去到英国、吾代表不混入香港/中国人GROUP.　　Well, if you can send him to a boarding school and you make sure there arent many Chinese there.  May be worth trying.

我自己小朋友係英國所以私心都係答英國架啦...
不過坦白講我有朋友都有加拿大籍但係為左個小朋友前途同喜好著想送左佢去美國...雖然比多好多錢但講真, 如果係afford到ge...當然係以小朋友中唔中意同適唔適合優先啦

actually we are also canadian but we prefer to go elsewhere for study.  It would be either the UK or the States.

我想說我仔都是加藉，但要比      international student學費。只有either parent 倍同才可比 local學費。所以學費並不是你想像中平很多。但當然就算付全費，仍比英國平。

其實如要俾 International student 學費，不如讀 private school.  
始終 private school 資源、師資也較好。

private school 都不是那麼容易考入

May I ask if you son is now studying in Vancouver or Toronto?  A mom said international fee only applies in Vancouver not in Toronto (for students whose parent not staying with them in Canada).

I am in BC, I am not sure if it applies to citizens in Toronto, but as I know it may not be different. You can check with your friends. I also want to know too.  Anyway, now I paid the school fee in B C.

private school fee is 1/3 more than public one, I cant afford. Of course someone can chose any schools if they can afford, even not in Canada.

May I asked whether you people have been talking about university or high school?  I thought the original discussion was about universities?

My daughter has canadian passport but we have lived in Hong Kong for many year. She is paying local fees for her university education in Ontario.  My friend's son is in BC. He is also paying local fees.

That is most people's understanding. University students are generally over 18.Since someone raised that his child is paying international fees, and I wanted to get confirmation from him whether we are all taking about the same thing.
Like I said, this topic has always been a discussion of university education. And he seems to be talking about high school.
