Hi!  我是剛路過的新會員，你們好!

我曾是軒下的家長，我的兒子剛於去年畢業。他在軒下的六年小學生活都過得非常愉快。軒下的老師大部份都是很有幹勁和關心學生的好老師，而陳玉雅校長更是一個願意聽取家長意見的好校長，知道她要離任，我都覺得很可惜。軒下的一至三年級都是採取活動教學，功課量不太多，四至六年級則用傳統坐法，但老師教學的方法都很生動，學校的“金貼紙”獎勵計劃更令學生積極爭取各方面的表現。

不過，如果學生入不到AB兩班精英班，則中學的派位便不太理想了!  去年，軒下男生有24個入到皇仁(可惜有一個同學仔因遇上交通意外而去世，所以只有23個入讀)，女生方面則好像有7個入到庇理羅士。

我的兒子也幸運地入到皇仁書院，而他在中學也能適應英語教學環境，學習愉快!

Good to hear that your son made it to QC - congratulations!   So far, I have yet to hear of any boy who is NOT happy in QC.  They always say that the freedom and activities in the school as compared to in HRGPS are absolutely unbelievable.

    

Can I check if your son likes the teachers in QC and if he finds the lessons interesting?

Hi CCM,

My son enjoys studying in QC very very much.  The campus in QC is much more spacious than that in HRGPS.  He is also having more time to get together with his classmates during lunch time.  They can play football or other ball games inside their campus, and he takes his time to explore the campus at the beginning of the school term.  His sense of belonging to QC is very strong and he is proud of being a QC boy!

As to the teachers, they are OK but some of them are not so dedicated as I expected.   I have to devote a lot of time to help my son with his studies at the beginning of the 1st term.  Luckily, he manages  to adapt to the usage of English as teaching medium and he enjoys his studies now!

He still has a lot of rooms for improvement and I hope he could do better over time!

例如:
有locker提供?
不夠操場, 所以體育堂較少?
不夠班房, 有些課堂要走堂?

另, 學內提供的免費的課外活動多嗎? 在上課或課餘時間上呢?

另, 學內提供的免費的課外活動多嗎? 在上課或課餘時間上呢? -----無課外活動係free的, 有英文班, 可optional選擇上不上, 長週就放學後, 有義工家長陪小朋友做手工甘.

其餘游水果d係join出邊的私人團體, 要比錢.

PM school is similar to what hinhinmummy said.  No locker.  2 p.e. classes each week in open playground on ground floor, if raining in cover playground.

Never heard of sharing class rooms except computer class in computer room and music class in music room.

Not much extra-curricular activities for P1-2 children.  P1-2 have painting, ping-pong and swimming classes - they're not free.

I only hoped that the school campus can be more spacious and bigger for the children to run around because the children in recess are not allowed to run in the playground.

我囡囡間學校有私人locker提供, 可選擇一個免費的興趣班在星期五下午 (全日制).

真麻煩你們回答我這麼多問題, 皆因我非常滿意囡囡間學校, 但想派位好, 才考慮給她轉校,  其實我是否心多呢?

In terms of resources and facilities, HRGPS will not be great.  Its campus is already 55 years old and quite cramped in terms of space.  

Why do you think that HRGPS will have better secondary school allocation than your girl's current school?   Yes, there is an association for HRGPS girls to BPS (only 20 places or so) but have you thought of what other schools to go if your girl doesn't make it to BPS?    I never thought of this as well until a parent from P6 pose the question to me (what happens to the boy if he doesn't get into QC?).........

Great to hear that your son has taken to QC well!       

Many boys have to go through an adjustment period during the 1st term.  But once they have overcome the initial problems, they really like secondary school life in QC.  I hope my son can be there too in 2 years' time - now, first I must go and get him to study!

If you son is in A/B class in P. 5 & 6, the chance of getting into QC is pretty high.  Wishing you and your son good luck!

I just want to share with you one of my experience: I will let my son prepare a timetable for revision by himself.  Then, I will prepare a checklist listing out in details all the things he has to revise before each exam.  In this way, he is willing to revise according to the timetable, he will also have sense of achievement when he tick against the checklist after revising each chapter.  This method works for my son, see if you find it useful!

No more A/B classes in AM session.  The only indication of how a child has fared is the "Top 50" list and the teacher's "hint" during Parents' Day.

I tried that method too.  He was very happy at first and set out the timetable but then would fail to follow through.

我都係PM old girl,我個仔今年9月揀小一,軒小都係考慮之一,真係開心有咁多家長報料,等我可認識多d軒小而家嘅情况,睇咗咁多回應,對學校教學都有信心,但升中始終有d保留,
我當年(86年)升F.1,P.6約有210人,PM通常男仔頭2,30名升QC,跟住維工,金文泰等,女仔頭20多個升BPS,跟住何東,維工等,即頭100應該都可升番聯系中學,跟住果d升band2-3,但包尾嘅幾十個同學全部band4同band5,(記得有2,30個升新x同孔xx),而聯系中學嘅預留學位係比AM同PM一齊嘅(而家唔知有冇改),而當年聯系中學預留學位比軒小係多過而家,所以點解我對升中有d保留.....到而家都心大心細.
有冇家長知維工同金文泰而家嘅校風同成績ar???

尋日已派大考的中默範圍啦.  我覺得要keep住佢入top 50真係好難, 可能上一次中測1年級的成續差左(無50個), 有某班甚至得9個上榜, 所以d老師好緊張, 有d班已經要預測啦.

我個女....還係度遊雲, 一d準備都無

我打聽過,  上年上午班有29個男仔入到qc, 20(定19呢)女仔入到庇利羅士, 即係入到top 50, 就好大機會入到呢兩間學校.

Don't talk about your girl being 遊雲, my son too!   

It is getting more and more difficult to maintain top 50 as the parents start to worry and push the kids hard.  I know of parents who send their kids to special classes everyday since P3-P4.   

Anyway, as long as the results do not get too bad, it would be OK for me.       

Let's study hard together with the kids.......
