It all depands.... Ballet usually require more on Body rather than lesson/ practise.

上多d堂其實幫助個小朋友拉開d筋, 增加柔軟度。愈上得多堂就愈容易適應。如果你諗住上堂只係為記下step / 學下點跳, 而唔諗住幫佢拉下筋, extend 下個人.... 咁佢第日 high level 就幾煩下。

另一類情況, 是老師未必會讓她升級。再加上, 如果幾年後, 即七八歲才考 grade 1 / 2, 其實是比較慢了一點。雖然說這些東西不應該心急, 但, pp 到 p 實在不需要上這般久的。

多謝你給我浸脚的提議！ 我的女兒就是不敢問老師，只是我看見她的脚趾就唔坻得！她的同學也是运樣，她有時上pointe, 有時用soft block, 但都會起水泡！ 她四歲開始學，現在上到inter，要跳三堂，又要返學，也(鄧)她辛苦。

Not really 1 year for 1 grade. In fact I start as an adult beginner when I was in University -- I start working with Grade 6!! And I know some new students who were 7 or 8 are allowed to start with Grade 3 or 4.

用溫水浸腳可以順手去埋死皮, 對腳冇咁痕/辛苦0家! 同埋, 點解唔問下老師0者, 我老師由我點買鞋, 買咩pads, 點袋對鞋甚至買咩 tights 都會講。 唔明就應該問下, 保護對腳係 ballet 來講實在...太重要啦....
至於起水泡, 我自己就冇呢個情況 -- 但會唔會係對鞋唔合腳呀? 闊同窄都會令對腳唔舒服, 短又會腳痛, 長就會 luk 鞋... 我可唔可以建議你去試多d鞋仔? 我就好好彩, 第一對已經好適合腳形, 而且.... 仲著左好耐..... [或者係我少上 pointe 啦] soft block 係我最唔鐘意著的, 沒有考試就不會考慮穿著, 所以都俾唔到咩意見你。

anyway, 我覺得三堂唔算多, 那年頭我為了考 grade 6, 差不多一星期上四到五課 [日日跳咁濟....], 依家諗番都覺得自己太傻 lu

Really can start ballet at any grade?  My daughter is 9 and only takes Grade 1 exam by May this year.  She dances quite well, but teachers of her ballet school do not allow jumping grades.

Besides, I heard that many kids will quit gradually when going up to higher grades.  Do you know approx. the % of kids who can be successful to complete all ballet exams (including the professional grades)?

1) I dun think that's jump grade, but you have to ask teacher whether they allow students to start with a higher grade -- and of course, she will be harder to follow as she will be expected to learn more!!

2) As far as I can see, many student quit after Grade 5 or 6, hardwork and also due to busy homework & school life.  Those really high grades like Advance / Solo-Seal is only for professional dancers!! and we only have very limited teachers in Hong Kong [also to the holders!]

well.... 事實真係幾貴... $300 幾蚊一對喎.....

我自己一對就著左成年都未使換住.... 可能我lazy啦...        

又或者... 佢對腳好好力啦.... 我... 只係開鞋都要用番個幾兩個月...

btw, 可唔可以知佢著乜野鞋? 我諗鞋款都有關0家。

Thanks for your advice.  So you can start from Grade 6 right away, you must have great passion and have been working terribly hard!

Seems that it will be quite a waste if students quit after grade 5 or 6 as the cost of learning ballet is quite expensive.  So is it very difficult to become a performer or a ballet teacher?  Are you aiming to be one too?

I only know there are a few brands but not really know the names!  It is usually the teacher who told her what to buy.  The owner of the specialised shop we go in Wanchai will usually give us some opinion on the size but not on the brand.  The protector (in fact not really bandit) with jelly was also bought in there too.

I agree with you that the feet are just too important to a ballerina.

1) not really hard.... but you have to push yourself in 拉筋... dun forget I was 20 years old + when I start learning ballet

2) Usually Teaching Cert entry requirment only Grade 6 or Elementry -- I wasn't aiming that, I just take it as Sport      To burn up energy and fat.... heeehee

Do you mean 芳婷 in Wan Chai?? In fact, I dun have much experience in buying pointe shoes. But I do remember the 1st time I brought them, I was in ADC -- in central, which was closed last year. The teacher there help me to try on, and choose from Brand and types. My friend got a wider feet than me, so she got a totally different type of shoes than I have. Mine is much thin [窄], and I got very small feet. Ask her teacher anyway, they should be always nice to help.

妳很專業呀, 見到妳們的對話, 真係比我知多了有關"芭蕾舞".
我囡囡每每做完運動, 尤其跳完芭蕾舞, 都話好累, 而且食量都會大增, 所以都係keep住個人圓圓地.
很多謝妳話我知有關"芭蕾舞"的資料, 如果學校要囡囡跳2堂/week, 我想我都由她去跳, 因為芭蕾舞是我囡囡自己選擇的, 雖然她跳得不太好

其實你的經驗是親身體驗，比起我這個旁觀者有用很多。我的作用是她小時我管接管送，現在則每天五分鐘的"massage".  她有時會說辛苦，但已跳了九年，不想放棄！

你說起我才記得, 只是口講是誰誰的學生也會有折。

五分鐘 massage 實在太好。我也不建議她放棄!! 這項對她的升學也有作用，加上如果她真的喜歡，她自然會能夠安排其他活動的進行。

加油吧！不要放棄哦！
