Thank you for your guidance.  Got an interview with their headteacher, an English lady in her late 40s.  A very nice teacher and she explained to me that their school is renamed Rightmind because their philosophy will follow closely with Doman, Shichida and they will use flashcards and other methods extensively.

She has certainly impressed me with their new math, English and Mandarin curriculum.  Seems like they have put alot of work into putting it together.  I wish more kindergartens in Hong Kong are as open minded as they are.

I am sending my child there and she starts early May.  Their school uniform is also very stylish.  Looks like something from Mikihouse & Polo

唔知係咪因為校舍晒唔到太陽，所以特別多細菌 ，比較下，迦南就『陽光普照』lu ....

Dear hehalady

Did your child go to this school?  Thanks for your comments and I will check them out on this issue.  I spoke to a Ms. Lau and Ms. Lawton.  As for "Gar Nam", I have heard of this name long time ago and I have friends whose kids are still study there.  

I have been told that Gar Nam are operated like 7/11 and highly commercial.  Their curriculum is quite old and the standard of their graduates are  just so so....

Anyway, I am the type of person that will never substitute my eye with my ear and I think rumours need to be considered but not adopted readily (especially on the internet).  I visited Rightmind and I am confident with what I saw.

I visited the school again this afternoon and asked them about the health records of the school.  

They said that the use of air-conditioning does promote illness in kindergartens and not just at their school.  They have implemented the following measures:

1.  The have invested HK$30,000 to install hospital grade UV and Ozone air sterilisation units to exterminate germs in all of the school area and these units are already in operation;

2.  All students will check temperature before school at home and each will submit a record in the morning;

3.  Air conditioning will be maintained at 22-24c to ensure that all areas will not be too cold;

4.  The floors will be wiped with Dettol twice a day;

5.  All toys and equipment will be cleaned everyweek; and

6. Children suspected of being ill will be asked to return home and will be given a mask immediately.

Ms. Lawton and Ms. Lau demonstrated that they were very attentive to my questions and I thank hehalady for raising this issue, otherwise, I wouldn't have got those answers which set my mind at ease.

My sister-in-law lives there. She also said this kinder is famous of this name. The teachers is not very good and the facilities are very old. The reputation is not really good.

Which kinder does your kid study currently?

By the way, did your new maid arrive?

Dear hehalady

When I visited this school, everything is brand new.  They just finished redecoration and they are newly painted with new air conditioning, UV and OZONE air disinfectants, new windows...etc. so I trust that the problems that you mentioned are now gone.

I was pleasantly impressed with their new head teacher and their new curriculum.  Thanks for your comments.

No toilet could be worst than the one at DBS.  We used to shoot flies when we were having a "piss", the smell when we visit the school, after being away for 20 years brings back fond memories         

Just joking    A KG should be very very concious about cleaniness and I trust that SARS has rang the alarm bells for all of us and made HK a better place for everyone.  If what hehalady said is true, then the KG needs to tidy up for the benefit of all students.

From what Kevingorgor has said about UV, Ozone....etc., the school has done more than what is needed to maintain the school's hygiene.  A positive move in the right direction.

我個bb7月就滿2歲，在年初我已和先生留意很多幼稚園希望為bb找一間好的學校，我進入這網站不止數百次，但都只是吸收各位家長對幼稚園各項不同的觀點，從未作出任何回應，因為我認為無論在網站或任何地方給予意見都要負責任，不能順口開河，胡亂評論。但今次我覺得作為一位兒科醫生亦親自到過這所幼稚園參觀我有一些意見希望讓各位參考，一直以來各位家長都認為初入學的小朋友生病就一定是學校有問題，其實由每個小朋友初入學，離開父母的襁褓開始接觸其他不同的眾多同學仔時都會因為交叉感染而病多了，原因是因為小朋友這時候對病毒欠缺抗體，所以作為家長我們都無須過於緊張，更加不應該無知地認為學校是病毒的溫床。我們應該多給小朋友吃一些有營養的食物，多作戶外運動，待小朋友身體開始對疾病產生抗體時就會慢慢減低生病的次數。
今天我放大假和先生到這所幼稚園參觀，得到Head Teacher Mrs. Lawton的接見，無可否認她們的校舍真的細小，小朋友沒有太多的活動空間，但她們的課程讓我和先生都嘆為觀止，能夠設計出這麼切合兒童發展需要的課程，我深信她們一定是一所很好的幼稚園，所以如果她們可以安排校車到紅山的話，我們會立即為bb報名。
其實我和先生會來這裡參觀純粹是出於作為醫生的本能，見有家長在這網站談論這所幼稚園說她們是病仔學校，我們都想去看看是否真的有辦學者會罔顧學生的健康。但就我們的觀察這所幼稚園已經在學校設有負離子、UV、OZONE空氣消毒裝置(這是醫院的衛生設備，連一般的醫務所都不會有)，還於課室舖設乎合國際安全標準的厚地墊，更設有溫度計保持整間學校的溫度，作為家長我會很放心將小朋友放在這裡上學。

Mrs. Lawton looks like my English teacher from high school .  Friendly and very knowledgable.

Attended their parents meeting on Friday (full house)and I like their new curriculum very much.  Their fees are very reasonable and they have a very good team of English teachers.  Their Mandarin curriculum is also very interesting.  Anyone went to that parents' meeting as well?  What do you think??

Very bright and airy classrooms.  Can see the UV and Ozone units and no problems with the toilets

I also went to the parents' gathering.  I spoke to Mrs. Lawton, Ms. Jacqui (UK) and Ms. Vicky (Canadian) and they have impressed me with their knowledge on how to build a child's reading abilities.

I am equally impressed by their Mandarin curriculum.

What is the difference between this one and the one in Aberdeen??

Rightmind is international school and Aberdeen is a local school.  This is what I was told.  Rightmind's headteacher is an English lady and Aberdeen's headmistress is Chinese.

Attended their talk held at KinderU.  Sounds like they have a very good curriculum.  I was particularly impressed with their Mandarin International Program.  Anyone else attended the meeting???

Zhonghua Zijing is a system that has been around in Singapore for quite some time.  It is apparently working very well

Visited the school yesterday.  Worth speaking to the headteacher.  Mandarin program very impressive        I will send my child there
