Where is Cheerful Park?  I live near Royal Ascot.  Royal Ascot is quite nice & near SJS.

BHS has home reading journal & spelling journal.  My boy is in level 7 now.  The highest one in his class is 12.  How's your daughter in QBS?

我女女 is in level 14 now (開學時係level8), the highest one in class now is level 24 (我所知, over level 10的小朋友不多, over 20咪得果一個tim)
妳講果個spelling journal係咪footprint??
我個女都有, every week, class teacher會比10個生字佢, 不過就要佢用果10個生字, 作10句 句子

妳地的小朋友中文level okay 嗎? 我女女keep住有private teacher教中文(我用cantonese同繁体字), 都有local 小一level.

在天后有間文具店(書店), 專買教科書, 有次我入去行左個round, 我見有小學教科書, 咪問下, 跟住個lady好好人, 話我知, st.paul, st. joseph, mary mount.....等學校用緊邊隻中文教科書, 依家我女女就follow緊mary mount用的書來上private chinese class

Wa!  Your girl is very good in Chinese.  It is very wonder that she has same level as local P.1.  You know their age is K3 in local school only.  I think my son's Chinese standard even worse than a K1 children.

Hi MomMom,

Cheerful Park is midway between Sheung Shui and Fanling next to the KCR railway.  I know many family with children studying in ESF lives in Royal Ascot.  Do you know what is the rent of a 1000sq ft apartment?  I don't think this is a good time to buy a new apartment.  

My son is new to SJS but one parent told me that I need to visit the school more often and communicate to the teacher more then I will know more about the standard of my son.  She didn't mention any level.  

ManManma, could you tell us more?

Hope you don't mind I kept asking about the level 24 student? Cos my girl is level 11 but her teacher said she is one of the top reader at class, she told me it's rare for any P.1 exceeds level 15, I just want to know the norm for P. 1 in ESF. Also does it mean QBS's standard is a lot higher than SJS and BHS?

I am very concerned as my girl is not good at maths and other area.

I have no idea of the norm for P. 1 in ESF yah!. 不過我相信QBS's standard 應該同其它ESF 一樣

for我女女果班, 佢只係講到比我知大約2/3人係乜level (同埋係女仔多), 妳可以放心, 得一個係over level 20(我成日都聽我女講, 佢係好smart架, 而佢係大女 (99/1月)
heehee, 我女女係細女來架(99/11月尾)

for your reference:
one indian boy (大仔98/12月) level 17
one japanese & one chinese girl (age ??) level 15
我女女 (level 14)
上次家長日, 個teacher話佢read book的話, 可以去到level 25 (連個class teacher都驚一驚) 不過佢只get到50% of the content, 講到要100% understand埋個內容, 佢只係up to level 15, 所以放佢now在level 14

跟住有few girls around level 7-10
最後當然重有d still at level 1 (一個重係100%白人)

所以妳可以放心, 妳女女的level應該都算係above average架! 至於數學, 妳地係咪都係學係10/20的加減數呢?

我last week去學校做helper, 見到d小朋友level真係好大分別, 我lead果group有3個小朋友(我女, 1japanese, 1indian) 果japnese女仔真係一個字都唔識spell架!

QBS外藉小朋友多?? 不過我唔多覺喎, 以我女果class, 都可以咁講掛 (100%白人2個, mix 2-3個??, 日本人6-7個, indian 2個, korean 2個....the rest 咪chinese囉)
我聽講好似要到yr3至會多番少少功課, 而上到yr4-6就會比較忙
講開小朋友係english level, 我反而覺得d chinese重high
