But each school has different writing policies.  If the kid is ready  just dont push him/her.  Grades in K1 doesn't matter much and writing skills can be caught up in K2 or K3.

I understand that it is sometimes hard for parents especially of those small b.

Some K1 kids can already write a sentence to describe a picture while some can't even write alphabets.  The range is wide at this stage.
