Hi, For sure, LTLL is not the type of pushy school, e.g. less written homework (only have homework from K2 2nd semester), no dictation (only have memory game in K3 last month). But what they do offer is to help your kid to learn life skill, develop reading habit, encourage to express views and be cooperative in team etc. So, the kids in LTLL are generally happy, responsive and active. For P1 school results, my girl is accepted by 2 private schools and finally she will enter to a good Catholic school in HK island. Her classmates are some accepted by direct subsidy school in HK, TKO and other regions and also good primary schools in Lam Tin and Yau Tong. But to me, the PI results seem to be by luck.I don't think it is directly related to what kindergartens the kids are in. I suggest you think what you want your kid to learn in kindergarten. To me, it's simple. I want her to enjoy school life, learn skills that up to her age and most importantly cultivate her self confidence and interest in learning and reading. I believe there may be negative effect on kids' development if we push too much and too early. I won't expect my girl to learn those things that suppose to be taught in primary school. |
