Parents need to be carefully to music specialists, many of them r also very strong in academic and give an illusion that they r admitted by elite secondary schools just because of music.
If I were to choose between tsl n aps, I will opt for aps as I think learning music is also my philosophy. P.s. my son is in aps p1. I found that workload in lower grades here r relatively less than other schools and starts to increase from p3( pls correct me if I m wrong). Students can this spend more time on music so that they can build up a relatively concrete technique in these few years(if they really practise). However in some other schools, I have heard cases of not having time to practise because the kids spend all time on academic. So it's all depends on the parents' philosophy.
really agree, my son is also P.1 in APS, his homework workload is not heavy. Everyday, he can complete his homework in an hour or even complete his homework at school before back home. So that, he can spend time to practice Music, read book and play his toys after school...
