英基學費多少?入local U成績高嗎?(更新)

我唔知有邊個 curriculum 可以 hea 下 hea 下都入到大學
IB 一定唔得，HKDSE 又唔得
英國美國加拿大襖洲本土 curriculum  應該冇 HKDSE 咁深，但係都要讀架
如果香港 curriculum 讀唔掂，我估佢英文都好極有限，我唔知佢點解覺得國際學校會收佢
就算有國際學校鬼 um 眼收，佢個學習態度係 hea，都唔會可以跟得上
冇往績的直資私校？
我諗唔到邊間會識合一個想 hea 住讀的人
唱下歌，打下波就覺得可以入大學？唔好玩啦
咁既學習態度，就算入到大學都唔會畢到業
唔明而家 d 年輕人，可以咁奇怪
一方面呻冇大學收，但其實又唔諗下自己有冇付出過

我發現國際學校板塊與local板塊的家長風格都好不同，這也反應了兩種學校既不同風格。local學校家長系逢問必答，無論多basic，但國際學校家長都系主張自己做好research，先與大家討論深入一D既問題 I like

Good idea, local野雞大學???好多大學畢業出來不是做番本行,真可惜,但公司請人定要沙紙,之前朋友孩子是士木工程師,現做lls賣樓,另物流畢業生,本地冇工作做,講錯勿插...

不能過份簡單地歸類，例如我自己就不是國際學校家長，我想是家長各自的個人風格吧了。

這是你在外國讀書的經歷？還是你以為的想法？我廿幾三十年前到外國讀書，想入好U、好科，都要拼命讀，加上想入請某d科要interview ,一d都唔輕鬆！

A friend's kid is studying at an ESF school Year 2 (equivalent to Y1 in Local School).  I asked to take a look of her works, and I was surprised.  She is learning the Unit of Inquiry (part of the IB PYP) on "How plants affect other living things."   They are learning words and concepts such as "pollination", "germination",  and "reproduction".  And they have spelling test every week on these words (but not counting marks).  The point is today's ESF is not the "hea" type as many people think. (I believe it is the same with most International Schools.)  Parents have to put in certain efforts to help them along.  But the schools make the learning fun and interesting to the kids.  Just this last night (Sunday), I was having dinner at my friend's house.  The girl told me, " Uncle 猪猪侠, tomorrow is Monday, hooray!  I can go back to school."  And my friend said to me, every night she (the mother) goes home and looks forward to doing the daily reading with her daughter.  It is an enjoyable daily routine to her (the mother).  And take note, she and her husband do not believe in extra tutoring.  But the kid is still doing quite well.

八卦睇完RC的大學入學情況，都有啲跌眼鏡。假設每年學生差不多，MYP 13X個學生，我估大多數是讀得上的先繼續留下讀IBDP.但只有8X個。而這8X個學生大部分只是入外國的普通大學。我以前入唔到本港大學的同學去美加讀多一年半載中學再考U既。似乎入既U都重好啲。既然又唔係讀得輕鬆，點解要俾成百萬讀國際學校呢？

1 million dollars isn't that much nowadays, may be just enough to buy a toilet in a medium size apartment. Many who own property can extract that kind of cash by moving down one rung on the property ladder (i.e. sell a bigger apartment and buy back a smaller one), or simply by refinancing an existing mortgage, that is one reason why we see a lot of discussions in this forum regarding debentures.

如果讀IS的前途真的比讀完LS再去留學的好。當然就算3,5百萬也值得。可是，RC的入大學情況似乎不是這樣。就算學費並不會令自己及小朋友的生活質素降低，似乎也不值得讀IS。

第一，RC 不代表所有國際學校，甚至不代表 ESF 學校。

第二，學習是過程，不只是入大學。

其實無論讀IS或LS, 都會有机會考入好的大學.  最重要係小朋友的性格在邊一類學校可以適應及發揮得較好.

One million is indeed not much. And parents need to consider any tuition fee adjustment every year. Once your kid gets into this system, it is not easy to move back to LS.
