I support 舊油天's approach. In fact, I think it's good idea to do revision with kids from time to time rather than doing all within a short period of time before the exams in particular facing the difficult syllabus.
Sometimes, I do believe nowadays, we only have hardworking parents but not hardworking students...
This approach is really tough. Nonetheless, from another angle, the "tests" are conducted so frequent that they are in essence "quiz". Even if the child fails in any "test", it would not be critical to the final grade. So, this may relieve some pressure.
To me, I'd rather the marks of dictation to 計落成績表. Since dictation is something that can be prepared and the contents are known (for my boy's school). On the other hand, tests and exams sometimes can be really tough and hard to predict, especially the time control skills, which can significantly impact the results of tests / exams.
