Interesting, why?

Translation is a transfer of a source text to a target text. As torunpoland said, "翻譯嘛, 好像好容易, 是的, 易學難精,..要求的是文氣, 通順, 意達, 即是target language 的技巧要很高, 中英皆通是基本要求, 另一種語文則要超強, 在香港的翻譯業的前途, 也是普通, 視乎能力"

For example of Chinese to English translation, one must be good at Chinese (source language) and extremely good at English (target language). So, why not study English ?

I will not suggest to study translation at undergraduate because:
- Translation has not many theories to learn.
- Prospect of translation is not good (translation is a remote job which can be done out of HK, eg: China)
- Interpretation or English or other language is better.
- Professional translations ( (eg: law, technical related translation) are with higher pay than general translation.
- Any degree plus a postgraduate diploma/master in translation is good enough to to a translator)

Therefore, don't study BA in Translation
BA in Translation and Interpretation is better
