聖心係一間傳統名女校，重德育亦重各科目，比較平均。St. Cat主打language training.

In fact, these are 2 different types of kindergartens and are not comparable at all. I just wonder about your statement "the standard of St. Cat is much higher than SH" was concluded on what basis?  English? Chinese? Math? Morality and discipline training? If you aimed at English training, St. Cat. will be more suitable for you.

Could you mind disclose your son is studying which primary school?  How about his schoolmate, please? Bec my son is studying N in St Cat, I don't know which option for him is better eg study K1 in St Cat or apply other drogon school or apply other KG eg KV, KM etc.

Yes.  I agree with you that they are 2 different type of Kindergarten.  My son have studied in St. Cat years ago and I have no idea about the standard of SH at all.  It is not fair to comment/judge the standard of SH.

I am satisfied with my son's acamedic standard (like Chinese, Maths, general knowledge and English of course).  I thank St.Cat's teachers very much.  I would say my son might have achieved P2 standard already when he gradurated from St. Cat.  It will be quite obvious when you look into the course of P1 (even in the top primary school) and you will find St. Cat teachers had taught them already.  He pick up easily.

For personal growth and development,  I am sure that St. Cat is the first choice.  BUT, when you need to apply P1 later, you might find that "LUCK" is very very important. That is why I have to re-consider and think about what is the best to my girl.  SH definitely is a good school and I have no doubt about it.  "Straight Train" to P1 is my dream also.  It is a very painful experience in application of P1, especially 2 years later.  I dont want to go through again.

I would say that my son is now studying in one of the Top Primary School.  He is pretty outstanding among his classmates.  Thank St Cat's teachers again.

Like other St Cat Moms, I got a number of offers when I applied P1 years ago in fact.  But, it is still a very painful and stressing experience.

I think you dont need to consider KV/KM, other non-dragon school.  If your child is a boy, you dont have any other choice!  Right ?

Once u have chosen dragon school, u have to take its total package ie. agree on their religion, values, discipline, straight policy and more importantly academic standard. Sometimes, I think it is not necessary to have kid to achieve or over-achieve academic standard so early, not all kid can be push to be like this, just like if u are only in an executive age and someone push u to be a manager in a company, what will u feel? Stressful, tiring, depress! I am the one who give up St Cat offer to take Dragon gal school this year. I have no regret so far because I understand when the school plan their curriculum they are planning in 9 years ahead not 3 years, kids can have rooms to play and learn something not necessarily important for P1 application.

JUst out of curiosity, if u  live in kowloon. WHy dont u target on Good Hope/Pui Ching/Heep Yunn? WHy bother travel so far since  kindergarten to primary school everyday ??? I'm taking about 9 yrs , not 3 yrs.....

Pui Ching is Chinese School.
Heep Yunn Primary School is not "Dragon" School with the kindergarten.
Good Hope is one of the choice, but I think SH is better.

I see your point! I understand what you are talking about.
But,
As one Tiger Mon said, "I believe my child CAN achieve, so he/she achieved".  Maybe, I am one of the Tiger Mon!  I think there is no limitation for a child.  I hope I can help them as much as possible!

Thanks for your replied. Many friends said if I give up St Cat K1, many mama will say thank you.  Anyway, I will try to apply dragon school first.  If they give offer to my son, I will consider at that moment. Don't bring vexation on myself now.

No. We dont speak English at home at all.  My maid come from Indoneisa.
That why I thank St. Cat's teacher very much.
Of course, my son's English can't comparable with the native speaker, but I found his English standard higher than the other boys from other kindergarten.
