Re: 崇真vs陳守仁
Hi bau
Since most of your questions are pretty subjective. It would be good having a new topic instead of pointing fingers to a particular school. Otherwise, it may easily create a quarrel. :
1. standard ? High & Low
--> What kind of standard do you refer to and what is your reference point? In term of academicals, most HK local primary schools (for junior students) would definitely be the winners if compare with Int'l schools. However, in term of mental and physical development for long run, I think definitely int'l schools. In term of English communicative ability, EMI schools' standard would be definitely better than CMI schools.
2. The chance to go into a good secondary school?
--> It is hard to guarantee, especially HK's education system changes every few years. Also, what do you mean by 'good'? Do you mean famous? Or do you mean good for your kids' to develop their potentials?
3. Whether they have enough activities for the kids? (only studying make a kid dull)
--> Do you mean ECA? As I know, many schools provide quite a number of ECA. In fact, most kids usually enroll a few ECA before going for P1.
Or do you mean interactive teaching approach? If you refer to TSL, then I am not in the position to comment. Maybe other TSL parents can help.
4. Whether the kids like the school?
--> Most kids like to go to school as it provides a channel for them to meet friends. Kids don't like schooling only when they are forced to do boring homework.
5. Are the teachers there good to the kids?
--> Generally speaking, every school has so many teachers. Some may be good, some may be not. It also depends on parents’ preference. E.g. some parents prefer disciplined teaching but some may not.
6. As TSL gots a lot of good comment, but the main concern they had no supporting information that prove they can get into a good secondary school
--> What kind of supportive information do you refer to? Do you mean Band 1 high school? If you want 100% guaranteed, train-through school may be a better choice for you. In fact, TSL got a lot of good comments but a lot of bad ones too!
7. How about those moms of TSL students planned for their kids? Are they planning to let them change to a famous school in higher forms or complete whole primary in there?
--> Every parent has an objective which may be changed from time to time. There is so many factors contribute to it. If I agree with a school's vision or approach, I would try to cope with it. When the time we can live with it, definitely quit. This principle applies to all schools.
8. Really have too much concerns in choosing primary.
--> Agree. Since our kids are too young to make judgment, parents have to make the choice for them.
Like most parents, my hubby and I have a lot of expectations for our kids but a joyful childhood is our 1st priority. So, we try to find a school that fit my kid's characters the most as no one knows our kid better than us.
Each school has its pros and cons and none of a school can fulfill all our needs. As a rule of thumb, parents should prioritize a list of the goals for school searching.
Good luck! |
