見到大家的commnet開始有d驚, 阿女讀緊一間全日的kinder, happy learning but 課程真係好淺, 見你地的share我估P1會好大problem~~~~~唯有呢幾個月睇下點樣幫佢improve下中英閱讀skill先得ar~~~~~~

csy_ma, 個女間kinder同你講的exactly the same ar, and我地都係出邊上一week一堂個d only ar, 睡前都係聽有聲書only, 唔駛認字ar, 試過想佢join個starter的english course, 做左testing就知佢睇題同spelling都唔得ar最後都無join到~~~

而家再聽你地discuss p1, 我真係開始有stress~~~~~~anyway, really need to find way to improve ar, 我會focus on點同佢認字先~~~~thx for all ur sharing ar~~~~

Sometimes, the children's abilities on reading and writing or learning may not necessarily relate to kindergarten's curriculum, there are lots of factors affecting children's learning in primary school. I see a lots of children from  課程真係好淺's kinder adjust really well to famous "deep" primary schools, and some children from very "deep" kinder, still have issues or adjustment to 課程真係好淺's primary school.

I would turn to the following thinking or perspective: 1) Look into the realities of your children, and tune to basics of learning (e,g, learning basic concepts, love reading, have good homework habits etc); 2) If not up to primary school standard, need to look into details on what's happening, not necessarily relate to the child, may be the mismatch between children and school, may be inhuman curriculum or fantasies/over-expectations  of parents...

Primary school should go to the basics - concepts get it right, if ok, go further for gifted one, if not ok, go back to the concepts again...; love readings, enjoy social development with peers and adults; not fear of authorities (especially teachers); habit of asking questions..sense of curiosity!!

My girl at P1: same difficulties, especially in understanding problem solving ones in maths. Teachers are helpful as they understand this is a common problem for all P1 students, will not make the impression that this is a big problem...

I teach her key words in maths problem solving, now gradually improved.

而家D名校真係好鐘意請人走, 未完成小一就巳叫人走. 我今早都聽到類似事情, 某名校校長好婉轉同成績欠佳的小朋友家長講小朋友唔適合本校教法, 叫佢想辦法幫佢. 其實係叫佢轉校. 但家長搵唔到學校, 所以仲未走到.所以我覺得而家讀書小朋友又慘, 家長仲慘.

以下係我前幾年同我囡學校新生家長寫既野，不久前都響升中欄既＂時光倒流回到初小時＂分享過，再抄來謹供參考：

1. 英默：這是之前受活動教學幼稚園既小朋友家長既惡夢，舊年係第4周進行，默既係超過20字既key structres（響本書既p4）．唔好以為好淺，未默過書既小朋友，可能連is am my都要費神背同分辨，幾頭痛架．
最好而家未雨綢繆，每日同佢背2-3個字，叫佢地將背咗既生字寫/貼響細卡紙度．張細卡紙可以貼響當眼處或隨身擕帶，閒時玩抽卡背字遊戲（張卡第時仲可保留玩砌句遊戲）．

補充：我覺得響屋企貼字卡都係方法之一，通常貼咗卡既字小朋友真係特別記得

2. 中默：以下兩個網址係老師介紹既

可以令小朋友加深對中文字既興趣，尤其是筆順既遊戲，讓佢地多做幾次，對默書好有幫助．
我舊年聽過學校的一個講座，教我地同小朋友在空中默寫好似佢個人仔一樣大既字，我囡都幾興奮，亦可以加深記憶．
當然，聯想法都有用，例如我地話唔知點解，做錯咗都有錢收？佢就對個錯字既偏旁頗有印象了．
我都有試過將d字界開叫佢砌番埋，對喜歡玩砌圖既佢都ok work，不過就太太麻煩了，後來都唔再搞．


補充：我囡響十月底總測時，需要默以前五次默書加起來的字，亦即是，在短短兩個月，要識默逾百個字。當時，我們認為那是不可能的任務，只是溫了要默的課文，忽略了總計的逾百字字表，結果，她的成績才剛剛合格－－這是很深的教訓。直至上次考試，我囡都是中文成績拖低排名，所以中文似乎是最需要早作準備的科目。


3. 輔助教材：Longman隻CD-ROM（建議唔好考慮買CD，我兩隻都試過，CD吸引度低好多）雖然約200蚊，但真係引到佢地成日睇成日聽課文既興踙，仲有認字遊戲玩，真係幾好（上下學期都係果隻）．
普通話隻VCD都買得過，因為呢樣野係考聽音同分辨平上去入，假如冇漢語拼音底，真係唔識點同小朋友溫．我地上學期就係睇隻VCD一次，做辨音練習時一齊猜一齊做，都過到骨．下學期出版社好似冇黎到學校做推廣，冇買到下集VCD，結果就唔知點同阿囡溫，成績自然就......

補充：好多小學都係用Longman本教科書，不過同一出版社都有唔同版本，要知清楚係咩個版本先買相關既輔助教材。我後來都有買CD作睡前催眠曲，結果阿囡通常會背晒課文，買e-book就要同佢一齊做（我地P5前既考試都係用e-book溫一次就算，P5以後考前很少溫英文）。
另外，我囡除英默外不需費很多時間溫習，原因可能是她縱在未有英書閱讀習慣前，也十分愛看只有英文字幕的學前影碟，且愛不斷重覆地看，由此可多認得非課本的生字。之後她又喜聽英文故事的CD，也愛不斷重覆聽，這也有助她語感的培養。

3. 數學：小一數學都係基本既加減數，練得多就識．我暑假同阿囡都好懶，日記同做番中文一年級既閱讀理解練習都做做吓冇影，倒係百子格算術練習做到過20日，發現佢既運算能力進步咗幾多．
百子格既原理好簡單，係每日做同一批數（標準係格仔本既橫10行直10行，即係做100題，所以叫做百子格），然後計時，如小朋友做得準確，又快過昨日，即可獲獎勵．
我地大概會響個多星期左右轉換一次，先是個位加法，然後逐次滲入10-20既數，現在也不過是20以內的加減．不過小一初入學生可能能力有限，家長可以試令佢地計10以內既加數，每日10題，做熟完再練減數．

4. 常識：考試都有課外題，家長平日可以同佢地一齊睇吓新聞報道，過時過節解釋吓節日既來由同時間（可參閱中華里http://www.chinalane.org/），應可應付到．

雖然我的孩子已升上中學, 回想由KINDER升上小一(直升)頭幾個月都幾得人怕, 以為原校可以銜接, 誰知大多是見外來生OK(根據家長意見), 自己唯有一方面用D簡單易記的方法幫孩子, 尤其是自己去理解題目, 另一方面教她輕鬆面對考試(亞媽個心不知幾震), 好彩數星期後見囡囡已經明白大部份P.1英文題目, 當然佢都好搞笑咁自己唔明考試題目就舉手問監考老師!
結論: 可以在KINDER時教下小朋友, 但又不一定要太谷.

In particular for the subject 常識, you won't be able to answer the question if YOU DON'T KNOW how to write the word...BUT the word in 常識 is extremely difficult as you don't often write it...you really need a lot of time to assist your kid to write the word.

Thanks for kindly sharing very much, seems not an easy thing to handle and need to face it positive, I will try my best anyway~~~ ^0^

btw, another struggle matter is that not final decide go to a 津小( nearby, a very common one, 6x% band 1 only but it is transitional method), or a 私小（also not top, famous for 老師有愛心, grading the same as 津小 - 6x% band 1 only, need to take school bus, main point - it is said not push on studying so much, 活動式教學)

ai, so at this moment, I will prefer the 私小 more, really sort of afraid cannot catch the transitional method from a happy learning kinder~~~any suggestions or opinions on this ar?

響小學階段，養成好既學習規律同習慣比較緊要
老師亦係必須考慮既重要因素之一。小朋友對喜歡既老師所教既科目會多投入學習，成績亦較好

幸運的是我孩子喜歡她的幾位小學英文老師, 所以上課留心, 做功課亦算用心, 亦是她順利過度的原因之一.

個人認為, 無論孩子聰慧與否. 總不應過'谷'小朋友, 否則適得其反, 連原先有的興趣都消減.  至於私小的創意教學, 本人見識過, 真的不要抱太大期望, 有時都要'體諒'一下校方要維持學生的學術水平, 所以一般都係兩者中取些少平衡吧了.  

回顧孩子6年私立小學生涯, 個人沒有怎樣壓力下.開開心心中跌跌踫踫, 我都算相當滿意呢!
