My situation is similar to you. I have a son & a daughter. My son got offers from schools like St. Jo. and is on waiting lists such as TSL. If I were offered a good co-ed. gov't school, I'd opt for that, so that I wouldn't have to worry about my younger daughter again in a few years. However, I didn't apply for a discretionary place of a good co-ed. gov't school in my neighborhood because it doesn't have a through-train secondary school. To me, whether a school is through-train is more important than whether is a co-ed. and/or gov't school. It's because I can handle P1 admission twice, but not secondary admission twice. It drives me crazy by imagining that after handling my son's secondary admission, I would have to handle my daughter's sec. school admission.
For the money issue, of course, it would be better to save money for the more useful credentials like a good university cert. |
