Some sharing hoping can be helped:
1. Never tell kids that they will attend a interview. I guess even they don't understand the meaning of interview, they can feel the pressure from you. Every interview I just told my kid that we are going to play with some EE. Besides, I never blame or appreciate my kid's performance coz I don't want him aware that he's performing something.
2. I will bring with my kid's favourite books and biscuits. These are very useful whenever the kid need to queue up for long time before interview. Those books has once saved my kid's mood when his daddy is disallowed to enter the school (those interviews allow 1 parent only) and he started to cry for his daddy. However, don't bring along with toy coz I guess most schools don't like child hold toys during interview.
3. Always sing along with kids at home. Singing with sign would be much better. Singing songs during waiting time has also once saved my kid's mood coz he's used to sing together with me. Even he's so afraid of the new environment and unwilling to sing with me, he will feel better when watching my sign during singing.
4. One important point, the parent should feel relax first. Kids are very sensitive and can feel our feeling even we pretend in front of them.
5. The least but the most important one, if we have do our best but the kids are still performing unsatisfied, never scold on them. Actually they have tried their best!!! |
