This kind of free style is adopted in university. U students aren't taught too much, but they have to finish lots of papers. For senior secondary students, it's ok. But for primary/junior secondary students, I wonder the effectiveness.
It seems that for creative parents/students, it's okay to go for DBS. For parents/students who don't want to get lost and want to have something to follow, LS seems better. In my opinion, a mixture of these 2 approaches would be the best. For me, I prefer LS, because its teaching approach can provide students with a solid education foundation.
Also, I don't object to ECA inside & outside the school. But for tutoring, if the school's teaching isn't sufficient, why do we still choose it?
Not sure about LS College but for LS Primary School, it's not demanding at all. Yes, there are dictations every week and 2 tests 2 exams during the year but at least it reduces the coverage and honestly is making the studying more focused and light weighted.
To us parents and the boys, it's a more relaxing journey
