I am a Catholic and my son was baptised when he was a baby.  Certainly I want my son to study in Catholic school for better spiritual growth.  Therefore I support Catholic children should be preferred for Catholic school when everything being equal.

I studied in Catholic primary and secondary school.  I started the Sunday school before entering university and was baptised then.  Looking back, I was fortunate to grow up under Catholic education, and my best friends are all Catholic.  We shared similar values and can share the deepest personal issues.

I agree it's unethical to force the children to go to church in order to increase the chance to get into desired schools.  But what if the child actually enjoys going to church and becomes a devoted Christian?  If it is God's plan, we cannot criticize too much.  The door of the Church is always open.

I agree with you.  It may be the "way" God lead you to him.  How can you be sure that you won't believe God after over a year's religous studies?

I won't do it myself.
However, it is no big deal even if you do it.  You just follow the rule of the game.  To claim a religious faith may not be that sacred.  Day in and day out, I meet lots of so called "christians" with disguisting behaviour.  (Maybe that's one of the reasons why I don't want to be a christian.)
Anyway, you won't harm anybody by becoming a "christian" for a couple of years and then get out of it.  This is the rule of the game, or else you make your kid into a very under-privileged position.
Mind you, there are also some DSS and private schools that add marks for having same religious faith.

I share your view.
其實當年我自己慕道的時候(5年前)，同班就有這些為子女而來的家長。而且她們有些態度都幾「為了領洗紙」而來，我都看不過眼。
有一次是神父來上課，他初見我們，環顧各人就說：
「每一年都有人懷着不同的目的來慕道，我是清楚的。那些懷有持殊目的的，不要把自己當成外人，我特別的歡迎你，是主從茫茫的人海中藉着各種機會，把從來沒可能來的都給召叫來了，可以給一個人兩年的時間去接觸天主，認識天主的愛，無論他當初的目的為何，對教會或慕道者都是一種恩寵。」我聽了有很深的感受，天主的門確是常開的。

你說得不錯，兩年後難保她們真心信主呢？當時其中一位「趕領洗媽媽」，現是教會積極份子，後來更帶領丈夫領洗，是個模範公教家庭!

好同意你的講法, 我自己並非教徒, 亦不屑其他人的這種行為, 但世事往往就是這樣, 套用你們教徒常用的一句說話, 主為我們作出的安排, 必有衪背後的道理。

其實, 就算真是加了這5分, 神不為你安排這條路, 你一樣也是未能在首輪入選, 我本人認為宗教是很神聖的, 請尊重你的信仰, 不要只把它當成入名校的武器。
