A good theory explains the world; a great theory changes the world. Although Einstein's relativity theory is still beyond the comprehension of 99.9% of our population, we all know it holds water because we have witnessed many real-world applications of the theory.
If a theory, no matter how elegant it looks or how logical it sounds, cannot be reconciled with the world as we see it, we have to examine our theory again.
English is not a brainy subject like Maths or Physics and the performance in it has a higher correlation with the time spent. Then, with your theory that with time spared from using Chinese in learning other subjects and spent on English studies, a CMI student should perform better in English than an EMI student of the same capability. Sadly, that does not seem to be what we are seeing in the real world.
Eviepa, look out! I'd like to see you succeed, not for your theory's sake, but for you daughter's sake.
