Please Help! PLKTAYSF vs Victoria (Homantin)

係interview之前,我對taysf都沒有什麼認識,不過in完0個日就覺得有少少失望.......
當日係我先生同個女入課室,我係出邊等時,就見到有個菲律賓籍的老太係課室門口經由窗口不停向內張望,不久之後,有位菲籍女士行左出來,同0個位老太閒話家常了一輪,仲拿住兩袋類似食物之類的膠袋,初時我以為係家長,後來見到位女士身上掛有識別證,先知道原來佢係學校老師,唔係對佢有什麼偏見,只不過覺得妳interview緊d學生同埋家長,應該take it more seriously,私人的事,起碼應該等到in 完呢一批學生先做,小朋友同家長都好重視interview,老師亦都應該知道呢d進進出出的行為好可能影響到小朋友的專注力.......
just want to share with all of you, though I did not tell my husband about this cause he is so keen in this school......

If money is not the 1st concern, Victoria should be better choice. Most kids are very presentive even in English. They are confident & the teachers (Mid-Kornhill who will transfer to Homantin) are very patience & experienced. Most of the English teachers are native English either from Canada or England.  You pay for about $1,500 more, then your kids will be taught with proper English & phonic everyday. (They teach phonic with fun & easy to remember)
You don't have to learn English outside.

They will have more written excersices, projects, reading, smart spell (dictation) when they reach K3.

The fee for mid Kornhill K3 currently charge $3,344. (Eng/Can). If you are afternnoon class (extended 45 min), you need to pay $200 more per month.  It includes the tea expense.

Victoria charges different school fee for different campus. For your ref, you still need to pay :
Uniforms (Kingcow Brand)
Stories books, acceraries & CD (about $800 each term)
School Bus
PTA  fee (for whole year)
Picnic fee

It's an option whether you want to buy from Victoria e.g Uniforms, books, ....
They always give you freedom if you can mange to buy from other source.

Tks for your information.  May I know what's PTA fee ? They charge 10 months or 12 months of school fee ? Do you know their website ?

The annual membership fee is $120. You may find little info from victoria web-site. They hold quite a lot functions for the parents & kids. e.g. Trip to Shahghai during Easter, may be Beijing for this year... Of couse it's an option for you to join. They also invited some famous people to give a special talks with very low enterance fee. It's not complusory for you to join the PTA.  You also can join the commitee if you want to get more involvment by nomination & vote.

Victoria :11 months. If you think your kids are smart, and you want to provide them more opportunities to express themselves in either Eng/Chin or Eng/Man & build up their confidence, Victoria will meet your requirements.  :

When I saw the other subject about TAYSF.  They said the ratio of entering TCL was very low last year.  If it is true, I think it is not worth for me to take my daughter such a long way to school...FYI, I am living in Tsing Yi

Moreover, I was interviewed by fillipino like old woman..Her English is not so good too...do you agree?  I also think she is not professional...she was concentrated on saying her daughter study in Good Hope and got a Master now...so irrelevant...

My neighbour's son failed in TSL and has admitted to Ying Wa.  You can tell how quiet their chatroom is.

Sorry I couldn't understand there is any meaning for a quiet chat room to the school.  PLKTAYSF only accept less than 200 students each year, it is difficult to compare with the others with 1000++.  Moreover working mother like me will not visit the chat room everyday.

For myself I only want to select a school where my child can enjoy her school life.  I found my child likes the school a lot and even want to attend the class in weekend.  She could finish her homework before I come back and I am glad to see this development.  My child once told me the teach didn't let her take other's birthday cake because she is coughing.  In fact I never told the teacher to care about this and I am really appreciated what the teacher did.

Once I also heard another mother said her son changed several school before entering PLK even though she is not satisfy with its air-conditioning but her son really likes to go to school unlike before so she lets her son stay there.

I have not planning to enter TSL.  For me, Ying Wah is a good school and I know their student also accepted by other well known school such as St. Mary.

So I believe PLK is not bad and trust other PLK mothers agreed with me.
