I think additional arrangements for extracurricular activities are value-added and should be promoted. Tuition outside normal school hours during primary is not really justified and indeed not healthy for children at junior ages. To a certain extent, I think it is a bad product of commercial tuition centres exploiting parents' psychology and of certain schools setting bad precedents. The trend is somehow spreading to KG levels. Parents should act together against the temptation of falling into the trap.

you do the best, God will do the rest.
I have a totally different concept of "補習" with reference to the quoted examples you just gave.
My perception of "補習" is something like the service a student gets in terms of assistance/guidance offered for completing his homework or teachings for strengthening the knowledge gained (or to be gained) at school (say by repeatedly doing extra exercises).
For a kindergarten student, I don't consider the examples of courses you mention are "補習" but rather an opportunity for the kids to learn, i.e. 學習 or 興趣班. The kids I encounter quite love such interest groups/classes which also help them get an easier life when they are promoted to the primary education. Of course, if the knowledge (e.g. basic mathematical skills such as simple addition and subtraction) can be acquired through fun and play at home setting, there may not be a need to join the extra courses.
Since mine is still a K3 kid, I haven't gone through what you are experiencing. Could you be kind enough to elaborate "當你看到別人有補習的同齡孩子,
Do you mean the purpose of sending kids to tuition centres is to let them learn ahead of the school's teaching schedule? I got confused b'cos my understanding is to let them drill the skills they should have (whether composition skills, mathematics skills, etc).
My friend has sent his son to a very famous local gov't school. Although she does not pay any school fee at all, she is spending almost 7k monthly for those private lessons on English and Maths. Otherwise, the kid will not be able to pass all those school exams.
