Hi, I'm a newcomer.  May I know where will be CAIS' new campus?  If the tuition fee will double, that's huge.....

HI bakusensei.  I'm interested in ICS as well so seeing your post here saying the depreciation of debenture, that means parents can get all the money back?  What does the depreciation rate mean?  Thanks.

i m afraid not.

prior to 2010, students can get back the debenture when they leave the school.

but beginning the academic yr of 2010-11, debenture will only be redeemed at a depreciated rate. For details, pls read:

Only tuition fee for K3 will be adjusted as K3 will be changed to a full-day course in the coming academic year.

Anyone know how many applicants for CAIS K3 per year ?

I still haven't rec'd the letter and called school office in this afternoon.  She said the letter was sent out already......  luckily my child is accepted and i have to pay deposit by 27th.  law-law-攣左成晚, haha....

Hi, I'm a newcomer to this forum.  I like CAIS very much too and would like to apply for my son.  He is born in Jan 2006.  Could you please tell me when I should submit the application?
Also, I notice that their grade 12 graduates only have about 70% university admission rate.  Do you know why it's so low?  My impression is that CAIS should be quite strong academically.

Do you mean the entry rate for HK university or university overseas ?

I think it means overall admission rate, not just HK.

Did the principal tell you the result right after the interview?  The principal talked to parents first, then leave my child alone with her.  After meeting with my son, she just said that they will send out letters within these 2 days.  After that, another lady showed us the campus tour, but not the Vice Principal.  Is that no hope already?  

She also has not explained to us so much about the medium of language, school fee, just telling us that the campus will move..  Is that after she interviewed with the kid, she will invite you to the room again for discussion?

worry so much... can anyone give me more info??

Anyone has similar experience with mine but did accept??

The admission lady was day off on that day, that's why vice principle gave us a school tour.  
Yes, she talked with me again after my child's interview coz she wanted to clarify some school information.

The others are same as you.  She didn't explain the langauge and school fees policy to me, too.

Do you have any backup?

In order to ease my worry, I just called Mrs. Lui of the Admissions, she verbally replied me that my son is accepted and the approval is just sought.  They will send out letters by today late afternoon, so normally I can receive the letter on Sat.  She also mentioned about the schedule of paying the deposit.  In order to avoid any mistake, I reconfirm my son name with him again over the phone.

Happy but still need to see the acceptance letter to ensure the reply.  Hope it's really true!

Have also applied for ICS, also finished interview yesterday, have any comparison between these 2 schools?

I have discussed CAIS and ICS with the principal of YMCA int'l kinder during the school visit last yr. she understood that my husband considered a strong spirtual env't is crucial and she had given a rather interesting comment about CAIS as being more liberal in that aspect and ICS being a little bit too strict. but i recall reading some non-christian parents' comment in BK that ICS is not too pushy (at least won't make the non-christian parents feeling uncomfortable).

I guess the major difference is in the curriculum (US vs Canadian).

re. students' discipline, my husband who is teaching in one of the so-called "traditional and elite" local schools had a student who couldn't cope with the pressure of the HKAL and transferred to CAIS. She gave v. gd comment on the school, including students' conduct and behaviour. She is now happily studying in one of the "famous" universities in Canada.
