多謝咁多位spk家長分享! 我有一個clear 的 picture啦!

我可以無私咁對囡囡付出, 但點都有底線! 有左呢d資料, 我可以評估到自己家庭的輸出 (係愛同關係), 對囡囡的期望 (我可能有的自私)!

當年我搜集的資料有誤, interview時答了"家校合作"及"開心學習","生活教材"呢d廢話, 應該答:我囡囡有比較主動同獨立的性格, 我地想佢呢個優點更加能發揮, 亦相信學校可能提供到合適的學習條件

The youngest girls, who could get into K1 in September, were before 3.  They were borned in late September and October.

Hi Everybody,

I am also a parent of SPK K1. I am so glad to see much infomation about both good schools here. As I know, the information from SPK parent is not much in BK. So, I think this topic can let the other parents know more about such good kindergarten.
I think though SPK has no Mandarin in K1-k3, or Phonics in K1, it still has much attraction. It is needless to say the linkage of SPC.  I think the kindergarten also pays much effort to strengthen some virtues that we should not overlook. They include the positive attitude and incentive to learn, reliablility, as well as confidence. This is of course not shown in the cirriculum but SPK tries to let our kids build up these goodness by different class activities and get themselve ready for SPC. This is important for the growth of children.
By the way, I also want to rise out one common point of SPK pupils i see beside the months of birth.  It is maturity. Many of them are matured. I saw very few girls cried in the first day of kindergarten. Most of them were self-disciplined and eager to answer the teacher questions in the class. I even heard one girl talked to her daddy after the first day of schooling " Thank you for the school, daddy". So matured!
Anyway, I think both are good kindergartens.  It is difficult to say which is good, as it depends on what things you weigh. Dont put too much pressure on you and your kids. Thus, be rested for interviews and leave it to God. Good Lucks!

25年          21 位
20年          12 位
15年           2 位
10年           3 位
5年             4 位
我想應該都沒有太多幼稚園有這麼多老師有25年年資.

看一看,點知睇到他們都寫錯字:
"2009-2010年度學費
每月HK$1,120（持有學卷）
每月HK$2,320（非持有學卷..."

各位媽咪,請問你地看不看得出那裡出錯?其實BK都有好多媽咪都同樣寫錯,但作為一所教育機構既官方網頁都有呢種錯字,就不可以原諒.所以特別在此提出,希望大家留意.

Sometimes, I do not know why there were so many parents comparing two or three kinders.

I am very simple.  I must apply and go for interview wherever the schools are good and then decide where to go after getting the results.  

In this example, if SH gives you an offer but SPK will not give you, the decision should be very simple.  Reversely, it is the same.  You only need to do a comparison when both kinders accept your kids.

I read from the other threads that some parents applied 13 kinders and some of them applied ten.  This must be a good strategy.

Just want to ask if drawing really plays an important part in SPK ?

My friend told me SPK has accepted 2 big big girls (born in 9/04) from SHCK who had completed K1, for K1 at SPK two years ago.  These two girls (K2 now) are having problem in drawings and behavior problem and the parents are asked to pay special attention in this area.   She told me an incident that I feel the way the teacher handled, is not good to a kid.  Kids were asked to draw tiger, unfortunately, the ex-SHCK kid could not draw nicely.  Then the teacher held up the picture and asked how other kids felt like about that animal.  Some classmates said it looks like a cat.  If it is true, I feel that the teacher seems not having a heart.  You know.... drawing is a creative topic and very personal.  We should not discourage the kids by 公開評審 their "masterpieces".     

If drawings is really having an important role in SPK, parents please take note and prepare your kids with the drawing course beforehand.

SHCK has no such criteria, I know a small girl with birthday in December is doing well in SHCK.  I heard that since SPK and SHCK are catholic schools, so SPK will not take the kid who is K1 in SHCK but want to repeat K1 in SPK (to be a big girl/boy).  I know one of the disappointed mami.

Hi invitation,

No problem at all and thanks for the correction since I have two daughters so I am not very much aware of the case of SPK boys.  Just remember last year while I was searching for info and notice some parents mention it.

And the situation you described is exactly why SPK is more attractive lar!

另外, 如果有幸同時被spk和sh取錄的人, 多數都會去spk, 可以想像.  ...

我都要更正,因為以前聖心學費是千幾元,聖保祿是二千幾,但剛剛發筧原來聖心己加到二千幾跟聖保祿差不多.

Hi weisscarton,

Thank you so much for the information but hope you don't mind if I provide a small update on point 1.

Since my daughter is in NC this year (K1) and now they have 2 teachers plus one assistant in the class.  The assistant is not in-experienced but on the contrary more experienced ones.

And as you have corrected already, the tuition fees at SHCK has increased since they have added more English (four) and PTH (two) teachers now.  Education come with a cost I guess.  That's life I assume!

Thanks again for your contribution and I guess I can slip away from this thread now.  hehe

1. 聖保祿學費比聖心貴, 跟據教育署資料, St Paul 老師人工比聖心高, 91%教師有7年以上經驗老師流失率非常低. St Paul 將每一班分＋五人一組, 分兩位老師分開教.

Thanks for your information. All these information is really worthy of the people who are not clear about these two schools.

May I ask SPK parents that do your girls attend other classes to strengthen their language, e.g. English, PTH...?

Hi Sum107,

SPK 已參加學前教育學券計劃, 家境清貧及無力負擔學費者，可申請政府學前服務繳費資助.  每月收費 (HK$2354.00 - 學券) = a little bit more than HK$1000.

SPK does not provide 茶點.

There is no other monthly charge.

聖保祿幼稚園,小學除了學費,每年交幾百元雜費,買文具,簿及影印,聖保祿學費二千幾,無可能每月要六千多,你聽很多人說的可能是另一家學校.
SPK 是教會學校,修女收學生是要家長應同學教教學理念,對家長是否有錢人根本不是收生重點.幼稚園學生不會帶錢上學,而且文具,書包大家都是同一款,小朋友根本無比較,點會分有錢,無錢.
