ha I knew someone would misread my words cos these two schools are really not alike in most aspects. I did not say VSA=St Paul Convent. Actually, if you read my sentences carefully. I was talking about accepting a small number of students from other kindergartens. Both schools seem to use this same approach.

heresay that many VK parents forefeited the deposit once they got a "better" offer from other schools.  

I am not parent of VSA or VK!

my friend's son is now studying at St. Paul Boys P.1. but he was begging 蔡繼有 for the entire summer. so i'm under the impression that 蔡繼有 is better.

07/08有177位VK揀升讀VSA，但08/09只有104位VK揀升讀(不過還有些在開學不久後選擇了退學)，因為08/09大部份比了Deposit的家長都是把VSA做back-up，只要有其他offer(即使係二線學校)，都會選擇放棄VSA個offer(寧願損失17,000-18,000的Deposit)，08/09的first round的確收得唔多，但後來太多人放棄，VSA有了08/09的經驗，因此今年09/10的first round，只要VK肯去VSA interview，相信都會收(因未聽過有唔收，有錯請指正)，不過今次要比$21,900的Deposit，可能VSA覺得留唔住個人，都可以留住D錢,!

“中文(普通話)及英文都有一定的水準” – 相信廣東話都一樣有一定的水準，因為學生課外全用廣東話溝通!

朋友的小朋友在VSA讀，朋友經常批評VSA，問她為什麼唔幫小朋友轉校，她答話試過了，不過冇學校肯收！

有位VK老師的小朋友轉入VSA讀，現已讀了幾年，但仍須要私人補習普通話和英文，因此我知道為何常聽到有人說VSA中又唔得，英又唔得，半天吊!

本人兩位小朋友都在08/09和09/10放棄了VSA個offer!

Letter of Confirmation 內容過這樣說 “a cheque postdated May 27th 2010 for $7,300……….. should accompany the Acceptance…………, the above payment will forfeited if the placement offered is not accepted in September 2010.  A Depost…$14,600 must be paid on or by Dec 1st 2009.

這個問題我曾在BK問過意見，好唔好先比了$7,300，到Dec 1st 2009前決定唔讀就stop payment，但BK mum的意見係Dec 1st 2009後小朋友仍在VK讀緊K3，那樣會好難面對學校!

還有些學校會在Dec 1st 2009前未有最後結果(包括second in)，eg. DGJS, St Stephen, SPCCPS etc.

不過我覺得妳先要了解妳小朋友的性格，再幫他揀間適合他的學校，因為CKY，VSA，St Paul Boy，ICQM都係好唔同嘅學校!

In 07/08, the School promised that once you had signed the undertaking letter, your kid would get a seat.  Eventually, 177 No (may be slightly more than that) did it.  Given the promise, the School had to arrange 7 classes (instead of the usual 5 classes).  You can easily verify this fact since only P.2 (the 07/08 group) has 7 classes.  The School said that they could only keep 5 classes in each grade, that's why the number drops a lot in 08/09.  Merely comparing these two numbers is meaningless.

mcheung1 - It seems that you are much concerned with the standard of Chinese language.  For your information, in VSA, they have employed consultant from Mainland to look after this aspect.  For P.1 and P.2 (I don't know those in upper grades), Chinese textbooks are specially written to tie in with the Unit of Inquiry.  Better quality materials are borrrowed and used.  I find that the Chinese teachers are good.  In fact, I am very concerned about the Chinese standard of a School too, especially in Primary School.

音小好著重音樂，而宗教氣氛是特濃，聽講開家校會前是要祈禱那種，有相同宗教的會較自在．

有朋友曾問我，會報維小和ｃｋｙ嗎？　我因家在九龍，仔仔ｋ２時曾想過只會報ｃｋｙ．

For primary years' students, I find that their conduct and behaviour are good.  They are kind and polite.  But many of them are talkative, like my son who never stops asking questions and eager to tell everyone what happened in the school.  I share with you some experience I have there.

(1)  On the fun day last year, we went to the school.  One of the games is about challenging P.6 boys, basically it is playing ball games with P.6 boys.  My son is not good at ball games but he wanted to get a house point.  So he played but lost all the time.  The P.6 boys were patient and let my son played one or two more times until he managed to get the ball entering into the bucket.  My husband and I were very impressed by the P.6 boys's way they treat lower grades' boys.
(2) In one occasion, I went to pick up my son for participating in the music festival.  That was an unusual time for picking up students.  I waited at the corridor since the class had not finished.  Some students went by and asked me if anything they could help.  I am impressed by the courage they have to a stranger.

For secondary students, many of them come from outside school, I still have  reservation.
