I have never heard my husband mentioned about that artist.......maybe my husband already forgotten most of his classmates in KG and Primary school......if your husband is not the classmate of my husband, he maybe the classmate of my sister-in-laws. Their graduation years from KCS primary 6 ranges from 1981-1987.  Does your husband fit into this year range?

Sorb, my husband studied in KCS Primary and gratuated in Y1989. Then your husband should be his "師兄". Haha!

As suggested by you, I have decided to put my girl into Victoria PN (AM) this year and will apply KCS KG again next year. Hope I can secure AM class next year.

Snoopy, points to note are:
- Don't miss the application deadline as it ends in early Oct., earlier than other PN.
-  Must choose PM session at the same time as most AM places of KCS are given to those with connection, you know KCS has many alumni who has grown up and give birth to their 2nd generation (their children have more mark).  So, AM place competion is quite keen in PN as it has less place than KG.  
- If you have a PM offer, remember to send the letter the next day to line up for the AM class if you prefer AM class.  If no offer and you are keen to join, also send in the letter for waiting list to PM asap. My friend's son got an PM offer after some time on the waiting list.
- You and your husband can go with your kid into the room to have the interview with the teacher, the teacher will just ask the children and you some very simple questions (e.g will give an apple to your child and ask what is it; will ask where you will normally go with your child during weekend), so, no need to worry too much and no preparation is needed in my opinion. Just go with a relaxing mood. Of course, you should train your child now not scare of answering questions raised by strangers.
- For the interview, you can choose it to be conductecd in  Chinese or English.

Snoopy, traditional or not depends on which type of school you are comparing to......if international school, of course, KCS is traditional.  If comparing to other local schools, I think KCS is similar to most local schools.  So, remember when you say traditional you are comparing an apple to apple.  

After  more than 7 months of observation of PN,  I think their class activities are very 多元化, I will say out of my expectation and more than many local KGs I know.  But 活動多元化 does not necessarily equivalent to good.... as it also has to depend on the quality of teacher.  Say, whether they can motivate the students to think via those 多元化活動.  I cannot comment on this as I am a working mum, I cannot stay outside the classroom to observe....but my impression is KCS teacher are relatively traditional....

Refering to your last question, all the PN teachers I have known in KCS are very nice.......they do care very much about my child.....but some administrative staff of KG (PN share with KG the adm staff I think) are quite impolite/cool in my previous dealing with them.  But I don't think the later will have effect on the children.

Snoopy, I don't know this when I applied PN/KG for my kid neither : ) In the pass 2 years selecting PN and KG for my kid, I was a kind of stubborn mum, I insisted on choosing AM session only, did not tick the PM box at all, so, my child did not get an offer from most good PN/KG.....whereas my friend's kid performance was poorer than mine, but he had a PM offer as she selected PM for her son. So, her son lined up for AM waiting list, wheras my kid had to lined up for the PM waiting list if I want to.

So, share the topic of choosing school with more of your friends and they may tell you more tips.

My sharing...almost 1 year in PN in KCS...
My child is active (that's one of the reason I choose KCS- to be more discipline).
She is now indepedent, more obident (of coz, still active). Although, she was used to make teacher angry...haha, but she is now very good and try to be cooperate....
At the beginnings (being a parent), we are too nervous when they had 1st day of schooling...after almost a year of time+her description of activities in school, you feel happy she had lots of learning in school ....
I think AM or PM class is a personal decision with aim to fit your BB. KCS's PN activities are in wide ranges and their environment can allow to let children to play more..e.g. Sand Play, Water Play, Hot Pot, Playing Kites.....Big size show/performance in which these cannot be applied in most small environment size PN.
Parents, again: depends on what you need for during in PN period.

Since we will teach her more at home as well with a little bit talent of her in language.
PTH: Now, she can read and speak 10-11 首唐詩. Can listen and answer simple PTH conversion.
Eng: over 1500 English words, with simple English conversion (we speak in English from new born to age 2)
Cantonese: We add in more Cantonese when she is age 2. Cantonese is the current home language.

Yes, she will continue at KCS for K1 in Local stream.

Chens, I am really amazed by your son's language talent.....I think you have spent lots of time in nurturing him.  My kid never speaks Mandarine at home (except singing songs in Mandarine), I somethimes wonder if she really understand Mandarine.  This is why I asked the teacher and the teacher told me my kid will answer her in Cantonese in school even though the teacher speaks to her in Mandarine. I have tried to ask my kid something in Mandarine (like where is your hand, eye, etc), she will point to it, so, I know she understand Mandarine, but her talent is Language is not good when compared to yours.
