I think what he/she meant is that St. Mary's is more academically orientated, whereas Heep Yunn places greater emphasis on ECA.  

In terms of tradition and reputation, I think St. Mary's has a slight edge over Heep Yunn, although both are actually very good schools.

有得揀嘅,就揀協恩啦,尤其是性格比較活潑嘅小朋友,千其就唔好揀st mary,佢哋啲老師會將小朋友定為男仔頭,唔多鍾意.

St Mary, DGS and Maryknoll are the same type, i.e. they emphasize more on academic side.  

Heep Yunn and Good Hope are more all-rounded oriented, i.e. they simultaneously nuture students' other sides of talents.  

Choosing St Mary or Heep Yunn really depends on the parents' choice and the kid's capability and personality.

Allow me to side-track.  I got a friend whose daughter is studying in DGS.  My friends told me, ' never expect DGS can nurture and build up the kid's interests or other talents. It is the other way round.  The school will pick up those all are already talented, e.g. good at singing and good at playing piano in their school team even in Form1.'

About my DGS's info., I just got from one of my friends.  Maybe it is my friend's own feeling and there may be bias either.  You'd better ask other insiders.

咁我想問如用20分報st mary, 入倒的機會有幾高呢?

If you have 20 points then the first thing to check is the rough number of applicants with 25 points or above.  If 25+ applicants have already filled up all the first round, "discretionary" places then there is nothing left for 20-points.  

Does anyone know?

如充現就讀協恩幼稚園, 將來能入小學的機會有幾多?
有20分, 但往沙田區.....

If 1st round failed, then 2nd round also failed (because live in Shatin, not live in Kowloon City area)
how about 3rd round, do you know the kindergarden have any no. of seat in 3rd round?
