According to the following cases, I think they are quite open and kind, sometimes strict...

The class seperation practice for SIS is that students will be in the same class for PY1, PY2 and P1.  The case happened when my child was at the beginning of Primary 2, they usually played with their classmates from Primary 1. There was a very naughty boy in their class that no one wanted to play with him.  Their teacher asked them couldn't play with their P1 classmates until no one complaint about the naughty boy and play with him.  Another case: SIS encourages pupils to study extra books.  One of my child's classmate didn't like and just finished 4 books from that term.  The teacher asked my child to accompany with that classmate to the library in Recess time to help her to study at least 10 books.  I am quite appreciated with their actions.

But, still they are Singaporean, my child quite respect their teachers.  She told me that the teachers are kind but she still nerous.  I think obedience is quite important for SIS.

How's the 校風 of SIS?  Some weeks ago I saw some students from one of the famous international schools in Times Square.  Girls wore super mini skirt uniform.

Since SIS is only a primary school, the students won't behave as teenagers.
Most SIS students are polite and behave well as Singapore is good at this characters.
Why did I choose this school for my son's primary studies? Because...
when my husband and I visited SIS, a SIS boy (I guess, he was P4 or P5) stopped in front of us, and said "Good morning". At that moment, no Prinicpal nor teachers presented. The SIS students showed their politeness from their heart.

i've compared a couple of international schools around Hong Kong and it seems to me that the children at Singapore Int'l School are more disciplined.  Any thoughts?

I guess the French standard is not very good at SIS.
Because they don't have chance to prastice.

Yes, I agree with you. Singapore students are much disciplined. Because:
- it is only a primary school, the students not yet reach the rebellious stage
- it much depends on the culture

hello, is there (SIS) so many homework to do  ? any extra course for your child ? I mean like Mandarin or English ? private teacher or which learning centre you prefer ?

No homework on Monday & Wednesday (CCA)

- Chinese everyday (P1: words; P2: sentences; P3:composition), dictation one time/week
- English not everyday, usually finished in school, dictation one time/week
- Maths almost everyday
- Science usually finish in school, but has Quiz, test, mock exam...

In conclusion, not many but quite difficult.  Sometimes I cannot help for their English and Maths.

I choose ask my child to read more books instead sending her to private tutor.  It works.  But I know some mothers will send their children to English lesson in PY.

I think her French level just like local school's mandarin level, 2 lessons a week.  I rare to hear her speaking French at home.

I have more interests in her Science lesson, this year is the first year to have Science, no exam in the first semester but have final exam at the end of this year. I myself learn a lot from her textbook, my hubby said some of the information in my child's textbook he learnt from his Secondary 2.
