我有朋友既兩個女都係禾輋畢業,佢地都係讀足四年,小學就讀主風小學,兩個女d成績都名列前矛,佢地讀書完全係自發,不用阿媽提,現在大女己讀大學,細女讀沙田呂明才中學,(禾輋好似有許多的歷史了)所以基本上不用太擔心,而且救世軍幼兒園既課程係培養小朋友讀書既興趣,愛看書,能主動提問.這正是學習的真正意義.

I finally got the reply from Wo Che. My son is the 37th in the queue. I called the Wo Che Nursery at once for the number of student intake. Out of my expectation, they only take 20 students for 2-yr-old class! His chance to get in at 9/04 is very very slim. What a surprise!

Then I called Jat Min which my son is at the 18th shown in the repy slip. The teacher said that he is the 18th of this year but as a matter of fact he is the 32nd for the whole queue! (You won't know it unless you ask)

Well, they get 30 2-yr-old kids each year, so he still has chance. I may receive a notification in the end of this year.

If he studies in Jat Min he'll have to take a school bus, that's our hesitation. Another choice is: to enrol in the playgroup of Good Time in Jubilee Garden when he is two, instead of getting in a nursery.

Dear All,  My son is going to attend the nursey class of Lok Man Salavation Army.  Do you happen to know the standard should be the same as other Salavation Army nursey and kindergartens?  I have attended some talks held by the school and I think it is linked to other kindergartens of Salavation Army.  Do you know if there is any phonics or English class in nursey?  As other parents, I am also concerned about its standard and whether my son can enter to a good primary school.  Please provide your comments.  Many thanks

1. 我好友的女兒是在Lok Man Salvation Army畢業，剛巧救世軍在過去兩年都獲優質教育基金推行Phonics，
常分享她女兒學習Phonics的情況，最主要她培養了學英文的樂趣，上到小一，在英文科會分聽講讀寫默，成績也見理想，現在她已是2年級學生，我見她成績亦見理想。她是讀出名多功課的XX會，她都能應付。
另外，現在升小學是要計分制，靠運氣多D，不會面試投考，除非考私校，不用﹛concerned about its standard and whether my son can enter to a good primary school. }

我自己的囡囡亦是在救世軍畢業，當年還未有優質教育基金Phonics，但她不怕英文，現在她還曾代表學校公開英詩朗誦比賽獲獎，打倒不少名校代表，或由所謂名校幼稚園畢業生。其實做家長常替子女擔心學習，不如培養他們學習興趣還好。

謝謝你安慰. 講開又講, 今日得閒跟人去九龍塘的幼兒園睇過, 環境真係好好. 我朋友曽睇過救世軍, 佢話實在差太遠, 她看的那間在屋村(多數都係la), 佢話好細, 沒有playground. 個園長仲話有時會出去公屋花槽玩, 我即刻諗到---會唔會高空擲物?

佢睇果間仲話到佢個仔讀果年(04), 學費會增至$2600, 一d都唔平. 撇開$唔講, 係咪應該選間地方大一點的, 等個細路有得跑下呢?

這有時都係一個兩難的問題,看你看重環境,還係教學理念,教師資素,因地方大,不代表教得你既小朋友好,而地方細,又不代表,小朋友的學習處處受制,正如我在救世軍的網頁看過吳志森先生寫的文章,他說救世軍禾輋幼兒園，跟大多數救世軍其他幼兒園一樣，毫不起眼，第一次接觸，不但不會「一見傾心」，反而會抗拒這個頗為過時的外表。幼兒園的硬件並不是最先進的，但軟件---教學的理念和方法，卻對孩子和孩子的家長們有很大的吸引力。
他選校的心得

1. 就近入學 (花幾個小時上學放學，對孩子是沉重的負擔。)
2. 不要超前「催谷」(不要孩子抄寫滿版長長的英文生字，活活扼殺了孩子腦袋裏的創意幻想。)
3. 有清晰的教學理念 (學前教育是個基礎，要打好基礎，愉快地學習是首要條件。)

所以為小朋友選校就視乎你看重硬件還是軟件了

How about the school in Tai Po, is it easy to enter ?  It is not famous in Tai Po, I think it is not the choice of many people in this district.  I want to apply but want to get more information.

你知香港幾細，其實很多幼兒園也沒有操場，但園方懂得運用地方，與房屋署有良好的合作，定時讓孩子在戶外活動，曬曬太陽透透氣，我個姪仔在白田幼兒園讀，我常有機會去到幼兒園，環境一D都唔差，唔好睇少D屋

各位媽媽,
我之前是看到這個題目，而決定幫囡囡報讀救世軍明德幼兒園的。我四月寄申請信去，昨日收到來信下星期約見了，好開心呀！但我想問下約見後，收取的機會大不大呢？有沒人可以告知，另外，我同囡囡又有什麼需要預備呢？到時情況會是點樣呢？想有D心理準備呀！(我好緊張呢？^0^)
