我年青時曾經學過下日文, 可以和各位分享一下.

感覺日文是比較容易學習, 究其原因是日本歷史文化比較短, 本身的文字很多都要從外語中借用; 另方面, 日文的拼音不多, 基本上大多數都是一個字母便一個音, 再由幾個字母合併成為一個字而不是拼音成一個字, 例如 BINGO, 英文是兩個音, 如果是日文的話, 便會讀成 B-I-N-G-O 五個音合成一個字, 故此學習日文最初只要掌握了它的幾十個字母後, 便儘量死記其生字即可.

但有一點要說的是, 日文易學, 但亦不容易精, 所以有很多人可以說流利日文, 但要寫一封正式的信件或文件便做不到了.

以香港為例, 在日常生活中接觸日文的機會確實會比其他外語 (英文除外) 會多一些, 因為日本文化及產品在香港是普遍及流行, 但日文在日本以外似乎除了夏威夷便鮮有用武之地, 有關這個立場我以前亦曾經討論過, 故此不再說了.

個人認為小朋友要學那一種外語很大程度上是家長的影響, 因為無論那一種對小朋友來說都是白紙一張, 但亦可以和小朋友商量一下, 給小朋友接觸一下最基本的日文和法文, 或者小朋友會有自己的意見.

Educational camp 真係冇講學或做什麼喎, 照字面解就係 educational 嘅 camp, leadership camp 就會著重 leadership 和 cooperative skill la.......... 有點兒廢話, 勿插..........

Sorry to reply you so late. Terribly busy these days and can only reply you when I take half day off today.

Just like what Daddycool said, nothing mentioned in the circular. Quite agreed with his comments. Will bear in mind your question. After my daughter joining the camp, I'll ask her more and see if I can give you some more ideas later.

Angelprinciess,

Yeah, I let her join too. After joining the leadership camp, she is so eager to join all kinds of camping activities. She has already asked me whether I allow her to apply to join the leadership camp next year.

Your opinion is really true and I just try one week now I can remember about 15 characters of japanese.
The major point I consider is that I don't want my daughter to be confused about the english phonics and the pronounciation of other language.
For example a,e,i,o,u (phonics) in english and in 普通話 are the same characters but the methods to learn are different.
Learning language for child is as soon as possible, before 6 is the highest efficiency time.
For my age, I try hard to remember but it is never too late to learn anything.

大丈夫! for sure your child will learn faster than you!!
no need to worry that your child will mix up the languages, because they adapt really fast.
the new generation kids, they can do like NICAM TV switching language as wish.

Flostan 兄講得冇錯, 小朋友的語言能力是不簡單的, 你以為他們會混淆, 其實係因為自己混淆而已, 所以儘管放心吧!

你一個星期15個字母都唔錯 ga la, 話哂都已經唔係後生, 嘻嘻嘻

Sometimes, my girl may combine the english and cantonese to represent her meaning. For example, " I  go to thi chi (太子)". She translates it directly as she does not know Prince Edward and some place names are directly pronounced in english(without english name).

ha ha!! yes!! it's the case for us too.
but it will only happen when they didn't know the exact word.
once you told her that 太子 is prince edward.
she will then say I  go to prince edward next time!!
don't you think so?!

咁遲先覆.  呢排公司好多嘢做, 今晚成10點幾先返到屋企, 好彩呀女呢排都幾乖, 唔駛我點理佢啲功課, 如果唔係都唔知點算.

個camp張circular都冇乜點寫個camp主要係教到啲乜.  淨係話會有啲活動好似communication games and plays. 呀女去完camp之後再同你分享.

Sorry for my late reply.  我個女小四嗰年叫佢去參加leadership camp, 佢細膽唔肯去.  今年叫佢去, 去完都係同我講, 話出年想再去.  佢收到educational camp張circular就即刻話要去啦.  覺得佢大膽咗同埋自信咗.  所以先應承比佢去埋.  希望佢玩得開心之餘, 仲可以再學到多啲嘢同埋令自己改變得更加好.

其實想當年我後生嘅時候都學過三四年日文, 可能當年後生啲, 仲未有小朋友, 記性好啲, 我都覺得日文唔係太難, 可能因為日文都有啲漢字, 起碼對我地嚟講, 記同寫都變得易啲, 當然啲漢字嘅解釋就未必係等同我地嘅中文.  好似日文'勉強'呢個字嘅解釋就唔同我地個'勉強'啦~

我亦都因為個女讀basic french而自己走去學french, 不過就只係讀咗9個月, 唔知係咪年紀大咗, 同埋忙咗好多, 冇乜時間溫書, 覺得好難, 終於都放棄咗.  不過我學嘅時候, 佢啲翹口嘅發音我又覺得唔係好難, 只要揸著本書讀多啲練多啲, 都應該會讀到.  小朋友如果讀basic french嘅話, 一個禮拜上兩堂, 應該難唔到佢地.  我個女咁蠢, 都記到老師教嘅法文, 應該難唔到其他小朋友.  同埋啲法文其實都有啲同英文差唔多串法.

不過我覺得你可以睇吓個小朋友係中文強啲定英文強啲, 如果中文好啲可以比佢試吓日文, 反之, 可以比佢讀法文.  呢個只係我啲愚見, 唔知比唔比到意見你.  有用就參考吓啦, 冇乜用嘅話, 睇咗就算啦~ 當我冇講過啦~.

小女之校內表現中英文相若.
我自己當然覺得自己中文好一點,但中文打字不計在內.
我還要花點時間鑽研一下.
理性分析,感性挑剔,都是"大丈夫"(冇問題).
