Re: Think International School

jujuy,

My comments on those buildings are same as yours.  However, we want to rent a flat with at least 800呎 so I can only choose those 10xx呎 of 盈暉臺.  We plan to have our 2nd baby in 2006 and employ a maid at then, so 6xx呎 is a little bit small.

We once thought about your place but I don't want to take mini-bus lah.  I'm very lazy.

Some DSS and 私校 aren't expensive but some don't have secondary school and the 中學派位 is just ok.

Re: Think International School

jujuy,

佢一張張俾你呀?  My colleague's one is an album and sent out at term end.

If they just 一張張俾你 so why it's so expensive to take and print photos.

Re: Think International School

I got over 10 photos already!  It is small amount, and the $100 is just pre-paid, you can choose to pay one by one.

I have bigger concern on book fee, for SC, it is $6xx for the whole year! (though its school fee is higher).

Re: Think International School

Ok, maybe jujuy got less photos 'coz her son joins Think in Nov.

Well, $100 of photo fee and $150 portfolio fee are  small amount.  But I have no idea on paying so many miscellaneous fees.

Oh yes, the book fee is a bigger concern.  Sorry that I've just found the list of St. Catherine is "Miscellaneous School Fees".  There're books but I wonder it's not the full list for K1.  I know people are studying in St. Catherine K1.  I'll check with them soon.

Btw, my colleague paid $550 per term for LN books in 青衣啟思, but it's free in Think.

Re: Think International School

jujuy,

係呀.  So I said it's quite 肉痛 to paid much on school fee but I still want to give more to my son if it's affordable.  It's also why I prefer local primary school.  We don't need to pay school fee ma.

I've heard some good DSS and 私校 aren't expensive from my colleagues.  I'll check with her again and let you know.  Just for reference lah.

Will you have 2nd baby later?  That's my plan and who knows I may change later.  Haha!!

Re: Think International School

jujuy,

"如果第日兩個小朋友讀書,又要課外活動,仲大開支"

Yes ah.  But I'm afraid my son will be bored in our family life if he has no brother/sister.  Besides, he can be helped or share with the younger brother/sister on any personal or family problems in future.  Say, he doesn't need to take care of his parents by his own.

Of course, I assume my two children are having good relationship.  It's also trouble if they're not friend.  Well, there're good side and bad side on everything.

Re: Think International School

Agree with you, I have 2 girls la, sometimes they play very happily together, sometimes they argue or fight vigorously.  Besides, they will "fight" for attention from parents all the time... So a lot of headaches, but also more sweet moments! :  :

jujuy,

LN book fee??  When will we pay it?  I've only paid uniform and school bag on registration.

What's "photo whole year $100"?

Photo fees :

They will take the photo of your child and make one copy to you.  About $3?/photo.  They said some of them will give you directly and some will be stuck on the poile that they made.  And such poile ($150) will give you on last day of school.

LN books are FREE.  There are only 6 books per year, 3 for 1st term and 3 for 2nd term, and 1 pack of cards.

btw, I paid the deposit last week.  And my girl will stury the whole day class in next year september.

The different of book fees (~1100/~1000) of K1/international class is because.

1) international class use [oxford reading tree]
2) no homework for international class, only classworks
3) around 3/4 homeworks for bilingal class (K1) daily,
4) billingal class need to teach CHINESE, > more textbook required,
>>> more textbook so more book fees.

leshita,

Thx for your info.

I remember you once said sending your girl to Kowloon Tong Think.  Am I right?

Will you take whole day international or half bilingual + half international?

Re: Think International School

jujuy and WYmom,

It's getting cold and my son usually wakes up at 9am or later.  I wonder if he can let us wake him up at 8am for school next month.

What's your experience?

Maybe you need to train your son to sleep earlier and wake up earlier.  My girl sleeps at 9 pm but still also can't wake up so early at 7:15am, and I have to dress her up in uniform while she is still sleeping.  Anyway, it needs time for them to adjust.  I don't have any magic key as well.

Re: Think International School

WYmom,

Wow, your girl sleeps at 9pm.  It's good.  My son always sleeps no earlier than 10:30pm.  It's difficult for him to sleep so early as my parent and brother don't sleep so early as well.  My son lives in my parent's home on weekdays and we take him home on weekends.

I think we'll dress him up in uniform while he's sleeping too.  Hope he can adjust the timetable smoothly.

Where do you live?  I'm now living in MaOnShan and will move to somewhere near my parent (Cho Yiu Estate) next year.  Then, we can see more our son.

Btw, do you find there's a gap of your two girls?  Your elder daughter is 6yrs older than her sister.

Re: Think International School

maria lai,

We live quite far away from school.  There is not too big a gap between my 2 girls as my elder girl is quite childish and the younger one is however more mature. Anyway, this is side-track la.

Back to the topic, I am wondering how many of this year's LN kids will stay.  I think that the whole day program with options of bilingual/ international is the key factor to attract us staying, which is not available in other famous kinders.  But this is not really well-known to other parents.  Quite a pity. :-|

Re: Think International School

WYmom,

The combination of your girls are good ah.

I'm also wondering how many students will stay for K1.  Think is not famous as the kingergartens in Kowloon Tong, and also the 'one dragon schools'.  Parents usually prefer going to there for getting a bigger chance of admitting a better primary school.

Regarding to K1 whole day class, what's the daily timetable?  Is it also five day a week?  Is the bilingual session in morning or afternoon?

Re: Think International School

Whole day class is 9am to 4:15pm, there is lunch and 2 hours sleep after that.  They have 5.5 days per week, but no class on Sat am, you can choose to go back or not.  Bilingual class can be am or pm, parents can choose as they like.

Re one dragon, in fact Think has its Primary School opened in Kowloon Tong already, it teaches in English, and teach Chinese using PTH.  The annual fee is around $60K (?? not quite sure).  I don't know if it is good as it is too new.  The principal has introduced it in last summer, but I have not attended the orientation.

Re: Think International School

WYmom,

It seems there's not much time for learning in afternoon after you have lunch and sleep.

I know Think has its primary school but it's not cheap.  Parents would prefer the local 'one dragon' school.
