I just receive a phone call from my little son. He's crying because he failed in the Chinese assessment. He got 8x and 9x in previous assessments and exams, but this time

你要安慰下細仔喇, 起碼佢識緊張. 我仔只會說, 算啦, 算啦, 下次考好d啦     你返去睇下佢錯什麼, 可能大部份是不小心的錯, 唯有再叮囑下佢地啦 !!

He can't complete the paper. He writes too slow. I do comfort him, but he is worrying that he can't promote to P.2 and doesn't want to go to school anymore. Oh! This is my fault. Because I always scare my elder son that fail in any one subject will have to be repeated. May be he has heard all this. I need to have a long chat with him tonight.

剛剛阿仔打比我, 講左個分數比我知,跟住再即刻好緊張咁問我, "點呀? 媽咪!" "o.k.嗎?",而果個分數絕對唔理想, 聽到會"下"果隻     , 但我知道憑佢性格, 不可全怪佢, 佢唔係唔識, 而且我知道佢仲進步不少(在家溫習時), 只是用錯答題技巧, 錯失了好多分吧了, 我就同佢講"o.k 家la, 分數不是最重耍, 媽咪知你識咪得囉, 下次唔好再犯同樣既錯米得囉!"佢諗左幾秒後就答,"我知道la媽咪!"

其實果一刻我真係好想    我感受到其實佢未話比我知個分數之前, 佢心裏一定好驚, 我這個媽咪真係差, 比左甘大壓力個仔, 你地千祈唔好學我呀

Ai! The suicide sad news seems prepared for us. I just went over all the mistakes on the assessment paper and gently asked my son not to commit the same mistakes again anymore.  One of the maths. question is misleading, both my son and I chose the same answer, but the teacher said it was wrong because it asks us to measure the picture on the paper, not a real book. I don't count that as my son's mistake.

Have your sons got any of the free classroom English book for reading after the Resurrection Day? I don't get anymore after that and I wonder why.

Have you got the tickets of the music show?

It seems that the papers in this test is more difficult than previous.  Almost all of our sons drop in their test results.

My elder son also drop in his result. Yesterday, Miss Cheng called me and conveyed implicitely that we should take it easy and should not put too much pressure on the kids.  Only on today when I read the student suicide news, I understand that she was worrying our boys at this age.  Hope this kind of things (kid suicide) won't happen again.

The June catalogues are available, for most of you have already got it On Saturday, I just get a copy for Hohoma and www, for there are many Dora books this time. If anybody need help please speak up.
Since there are 3 book clubs use the same name, so the "Kid's pick" has to use the club code printed at the bottom of the last page of the catalogues for ordering.

Our Chinese teachers are really smart! I think 普通話沒有小食. However, we meet Cantonese writing in most circumstances, so my son has started to ignore my guide of writing "correct" Chinese, he pointed to the posters in school, MTR stations, newspapers saying, " They write verbal Chinese, I also like to write verbal Chinese!"
