S.C 的活動教學不是叫你在班房四圍走，只是多些外遊及專案親子活動。家課少一些。

其實視乎遇到的老師有沒有鼓勵學生於一定程度內自由發揮。

我女兒讀KV K1時亦坐不定(playgroup時國際教學法)，但現在亦不抗拒上學

就係因為活動教學, 老師唔管要你去管番囉, 咁就梗係多投訴啦.

我俾個囝入去之前都有你的擔心, 不過都過咗半個學期, so far so good.  放心啦!  唔得先轉校囉, 又唔駛死嘅!

重有, 邊個話KV傳統, 我見到課室裏面小朋友d晝响空白地方自己晝d雲同太陽, 証明學校都有鼓勵佢哋有自己思想, 一d都唔死板, 今日見到老師穿上運動衫, 話今日係運動會, 幾好呀!
For me, 最好唔駛我參與, 因為要返工.

Hi KV parents,
My son is admitted to KV K1 next year, but I'm still struggling for whether to change to KV .  I read the chatroom article and found that KV parents seems not so understand what's happen in the school and what's the teaching progress.  Some parents need to guess whether school teach english by phonics and even don't know what's the school song, is the communication between the school and parent is so weak?
How's the standard of oral english of KV?

KV has its own teaching method and we are very happy of it.  Yes, you can say that there are lack of communication between parents and school but in the other way it is creating our kids to tell us more about their daily activities at school.
Every Friday, teacher will put a printed note in the handbook advising what they taught during the week.
In addition, you can communicate with teacher through handbook or leave a message to school for the class teacher to call back.
Their Chinese is Superb, English pronounciation is good too [as u know there is no English native speaker teacher in school].  Not teaching phonics yet but u should go to K3 Chatroom to find out more.
Last week, my son was saying A POLICEMAN P, A PIECE OF PAPER P.

Yes, I also agree with BMW0305 that KV has a good method to teach chirldren in English and Chinese.

Normally, they taught 3 Chinese words a week and one Alphabet with some words.  I also supprise that my son can say "A cup of Jelly", "A piece of cake", "An aeroplane, a boat" etc. Sometimes, my son can spell some word, like happy, ball.

So I appreciate their teaching method and their teachers are caring chirldren all the time.

I also agree BeBeMa2003 and BMW0305.

When I talk to some ST. Cat mothers, they don't know what their kids learn from school too.  However, I can tell them how many Chinese Words, English words and songs my son has learnt.

The paper assessment can tell me more specific about the progress of my son.  It is better than just tell me verbally.

I feel very comfortable about their communication with me.  The teacher will call parent when they found the kids have something wrong.
