Re: Singapore International School

kwansuilan,

如果我們係一個英文程度不太好的家庭(可以看得懂英文,但寫唔到一封似樣嘅英文信件,講英文亦唔係好好),但係我們想自己的孩子上到一間好的學校.

I cannot agree with your above statement.I don't think your English is not good. It is only lack of practising. Be more confident with yourself.

作爲父母的,平時應該點樣跟SIS的老師做日常溝通呢?他們會說廣東話嗎?

I commumicate with Chinese teacher in Mandarin, Other teachers in English. Sometimes I do communicate with school staffs with Cantonese. Most of communication are done via e-mails.It rare for teachers to call parents, unless there is a complain against our kids or very serious problem occuring. So far, we have PTC at the begining of academy year ( introduction of teachers, syllabus and examination format) & PTC 2 at the end of academy year ( Jul) to collect report book/assignments/projects/art-works of our child.

而小朋友方面,是否會出現像CY-mother嘅仔仔那樣的情況,搵唔到朋友?
I am sorry to learn CY-mother's problem. To be very frank, it is very "heart pain" if this situation happen to our kids. If I were the mother I would request school to apply "budy system" - assign one or two outgoing and caring classmates to help my kid to go thorough the transition period smoothly.
My "Busybody" kids are very keen in taking care of new comer.

Bye -Bye

EEPhoon:

多謝指教。

你提議嘅“budy system”非常有建設性。希望CY-mother也看到你這個回應,然後向學校方面提出建議。

Thanks a lot.

Thankful,

Hi! Friend, I'm still here. Don't give up. The more you write, the more leehoma001 will respond, the more he shows his delusion. However, it should be stopped before he really get an acute schizophrenia attack. I am worried about the welfare of his son. He is innocent.

According to Cambridge International Dictionary of English, "integrity" means the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles that you refuse to change.  "Honesty" means the quality of being honest.

At your request, I will now express my view.  Your views are biased, prejudiced and totally unreliable.  Your comments are not worth the paper they are written on.  Your conclusions are illogical and unfounded.  Your manner is abusive and rude.  By the way, you said that I am free to express my own views.  So do respect my right.

I indeed have zero wisdom because I am still responding to you whilst all others have given up.

Last but not least, you don't even have the courage to owe up that you are daydream.

Whatever you don't know, you will say it is no need to know. How 阿Q you are! This is a psychological protection mechanism and good for mental health. Keep it Up!

You remind me of the picture that in cultural revolution, the red guard waving the little red book in 天安門square yelling "long live Chairman Mao"

Trust is everything.

I am very disapponted that you still don't get my point.

There is no need for me to know exactly how my boy gets the knowledge, from school, from his self-reading, from me or others. The most important point is to ensure my boy keeps learning and developing.

I have said many times that I trust the curriculum, teaching style and approach of ESF as seen from its good and proven track records. There is no need to spend effort to understand what ESF will or going to teach my boy.  See the point !!!

Re: Singapore International School

Hi, Old man! I enjoy being young!

I really query the quality of your 'Indepth' research. You have only told us the conclusion of it but never tell us how you did it. As you are willing to show your son's school report (it is so private, but I am not interested), I think you don't mind make public your 'Indepth' research report (which should include introduction, aim of the study, method, result, discussion, conclusion, and references coded). I think it is very interesting and helpful to other parents when they choose school for their beloved children!

Please use your logical thinking before trying to challenge me.

What's wrong with all my previous postings?

It is true that I  had conducted a thorough, detail, in depth research about why ESF can produce students with quite an even and high academic standard. You had also consulted an education pschologist about the system of ESF.

***However, in the recent postings, it seems that this is not the case.***

Why you think it is not the case?

I had said that I don't know the details curriculum of ESF as well as what exactly ESF has taught my boy. It is not contradicted to my previous postings. I had conducted the overall search on ESF curriculum and know the overall picture as well as the teaching approach and style of ESD but I hadn't or there is no need to go into the extreme details such as what my boy learns in this week, what new words he has learn in this week, whether he knows times table in this week, whether he has learnt mammals, plants, vocanos in this week,...... etc, etc.

Can you now see my points !!!!

***
Another thing, you mentioned that you only concern whether your kid can cope with ESF's system and develop his potential. Does it mean that ESF system is only suitable to a certain proportion of students and your son may not be one of them?
***

Why I concern whether my kid can cope with ESF's system?  The answer is very simple. In order to obtain maximum benefits from any system, we have to do something or adjust ourselves.  Even the school has an excellent system, it doesn't mean that the parents can just hold up their hands and only let their kids on their own following the schools.  Instead, we have to cope with the school when the school has any requirements for us to cooperate with and we also have to monitor whether the kids are developing or have any problems at school (like my boy who has emotional disturbance at year 1). In case we find our kids not following the track as requested by the school, we have to work with the school closely in order to solve the problem.

Leehoma001,
Hi, little boy again!
I remember in one of other threads, you said you had conducted a thorough, detail, in depth research about why ESF can produce students with quite an even and high academic standard. You had also consulted an education pschologist about the system of ESF. At that time, I admired you very much since I am a lazy father. I just asked my friends' opinion and visited some of the schools. However, in the recent postings, it seems that this is not the case. Therefore I advise you to conduct the research again. This may be a very good PhD thesis and worth publishing so as to benefit our future generation and help the education reform. Now, I am so disappointed that you only mention about to trust the school. However, if my memory is wrong, I give you my deepest apology.

Another thing, you mentioned that you only concern whether your kid can cope with ESF's system and develop his potential. Does it mean that ESF system is only suitable to a certain proportion of students and your son may not be one of them? This is just a gentle reminder, don't be angry about that.

I just curious to know how you can help your son to cope with the system without knowing what's going on in class.

Leehoma001,

'P.S. Don't mixed up with other identities, leehoma001 has his own identity and character'

Daydream also has his own identity and character but it doesn't mean that leehoma001 and Daydream are different persons. This remind me of a psychiatric case that a person splits up into 20+ identities. Hope you're not suffering from this. Take care!
